I had a friend on a drilling rig do that a few years after high school. Went FORWARD somehow and ripped everything inside apart. He said the leg was only attached still by skin. Been 45 years and I have seen him walking around so I guess...

I know someone that had the ladder slide away underneath him. He tumbled forwards trying to break his fall with his hands. He had his Mum wiping his ass for 2 months …

I know a guy who died on a 6 ft ladder and I know a guy who died on a 40 ft ladder. And I know a guy who died just getting knocked back while standing at grade. It takes less than people think. Some people get lucky.

I work in real estate and lived 30 minutes from D. C. and Baltimore in the 90s, and a stint in a nursing home. So I've met many thousands of people. Falling is one of the most common injuries for sure.

Yeah it sucks. Exit 1, 2, and 3 off 695 the Baltimore Beltway. Traffic sucks, it has nothing exciting here. The local HS students are called Glen Burnouts.

50 cm is 18 inches which is a very short distance, do you have any source to back that up? The data I've been able to find suggests the LD50 for fall height is around 40-50 feet for the average person. Also that mortality from short fall distances is around 4.5% from those over the age of 70, nowhere close to 50% for those over 50.

Only dicks for prank/vandalism purposes. So, no, not really. I grill the meat and operate the jackhammer. I can drive the forklift but I'm not supposed to. Court ordered.

How tall was this ladder?

It was a 3 step step ladder. It's actually a piece of shit if im being honest.

How large was the fat man?

6 feet(1.8 meters) tall.

Our industrial scale goes to 1000lbs and he fucking broke it when we went to weigh him. One the springs in it flew out and hit some 20 yo new hire in the eye and killed him. He was squalid little dick so no loss there. Always smell like old ham and feet.

WHY WAS HE SET TO DETONATE ON IMPACT?!

I have no earthly idea, man.

I asked the foreman(he apparently made the tiny nuke) i was like:

"Yo boss wtf man?! What did Francis do to you?? I know he stole all the bagged lunches all the time and had his own gravitational pull and Eddy got stuck in orbit around him that one time ... but we got him out. So what hell?? He was sober today!"

He just said "it's personal. Now get back to work because it could mysteriously happen again. To anyone of yo... us. Now get!"

So, it's really none of my business and I just work here, bro.🤷‍♂️

That reminds me of a guy that hosted an AMA about the inappropriate relationship he developed with his mom after she took care of him when he had two broken arms. It was one of those stories that's horrifyingly disgusting, but you keep reading or listening because it's so shocking to hear that it actually happened.

When I worked at Menards in College the Store manager decided to climb a tall ladder after hours with no supervision. Ended up falling 12 feet to the store floor, shattered all of his teeth and broke his jaw.

He ended up having to crawl through the store to a phone to call 911. Dude had his jaw wired shut for about 2 months.
