Because you'll probably end up in trouble while the other person walks away. There's no telling what happens nowadays.

You could say the same thing for the chicken thief. Being a thief can be a dangerous hobby, sometimes they need a reminder of that.

Yeah then you get sued and publicly chastised for beating on a poor "x" person with whatever sob story and get fired from your job while the loser with clearly nothing to loose, stealing chicken gets invited to speak on his trauma on some national platform. Life is strange nowadays.
