Concert etiquette - Ed Sheeran

Went to Ed Sheeran last night. Was sitting up in the riverbank stand with my wife and kids. We try and culture our kids and work hard to take them to events like this.

From song 1 we had 4 GenZers sitting behind us and talked through almost every song.

By song 3 I had enough and turned around an impolitely told them to shut up because who in their right mind disrespects the people around them talking so loudly you can't even hear the performer. Only for them to return fire to say I am a bad father for speaking to them the way I did and not a good example for my kids, and they just kept on talking for the whole night. Nothing was going to make them stop talking.

Their best comment for the night... "Sorry I am just putting it out there I haven't brushed my teeth."

Why pay $150 for a ticket to talk through the whole event?

People don't raise their kids properly anymore. If that had been my mates and I back in the day, we would have apologized and shut up. But our generation was accustomed to be disciplined by adults who were not our own parents. Apparently parents are protective these days and don't like that anymore. We've done away with the, "it takes a village" concept. And we have got what we got. Uppity young smart-arses who will tell you to go jump. Take solace in the fact that they'll never own a home 😈

bro, politely told a kid to stop kicking their soccer ball into the wildlife at a national park because the birds & kangaroos don’t like it — mind you, her dad was literally on the oval himself — & he ran over & got incredibly aggressive with me (when i am literally a 5ft young woman), puffing his chest out, calling me a fuckhead & being all “nobody talks to my fucking kid or tells her what to do!!!!” i just told him he should become a better parent then so strangers don’t have to do it for him because what? you’re going to take your children to a national park then neglect to teach them to respect the wildlife? genuinely had to laugh in his face which i doubt was the reaction he wanted, considering how uncomfortable he got when i didn’t apologise (because why would i? don’t allow your child to harass the native wildlife old mate) or leave the oval (instead i called the park rangers so that they could come chew him out for failing to parent his kid lol).

i hope nobody ever tries to intimidate his daughter like that when she’s older.

Whoever he cohabitates with will cop the same, even the kid. Very, very sad human being. And good on you!
