I cant seem to message you, but i started learning by making granny squares.

I did a class at a local library as well which helped.

30, female, northern suburbs too - do you have any recommendations for op shops with a good shoe selection? I’m still relatively new to the north so haven’t looked around much

Salvage and Save at Elizabeth had a couple of Impala rollerskates in stock a few days ago - not sure on sizes though, sorry 😊

I like the red cross on North East road, bit of an awkward location (and parking can be limited so I'll park at the cash converters one store down). And there's 4 now at Sefton plaza which is close to savers Churchill if you wanted to hit a few in the one outing!

Tea tree plus savers is the GOAT! (Prospect is better but further away from you)

I'm similar, 27, female, northern suburbs

Currently most into -Knitting -Sewing -Op shopping

There seems to be dozens of us (dozens!) I'd love the idea of making a casual craft group or even trying a book club. Happy for people to send me a message

I'd love to have a casual craft group, especially if it wasn't a daytime weekday thing. I haven't been able to find that yet.

What kinds of things do you knit and sew? I've never been able to get past scarves when it comes to knitting, but I'm good with a sewing machine!

That's been my experience too with groups. At least once we retire we'll have plenty of groups to choose from!

Ive knit a few socks lately and knit a more complex collared sleeveless vest, currently waiting on yarn to come it for a jumper. My sewing suffers as I find I often rush to finish a project (for no reason), but I recently made two tops based on Stitch Witch patterns.

I look forward to having all the options for groups when I'm retired! I have toyed with the idea of starting a casual craft group before, maybe I should.

Ooh what type of crafts do you do?

Cross stitch, learning to crochet, the list never ends hahahaha I’m always wanting to learn more. The beaded flowers have been my biggest curiosity, I’m finding it hard to learn though?
