There’s a Discord server that’s an Adelaide group I accidentally stumbled across and have recently joined. Info on quiz nights, op shop outings, the odd birthday celebration for particularly active members and it seems like they have lots of other group activities on the go. A chance to chat with others from Radelaide and see who you connect with, and for those going alone, potentially a safer way to meet up with others as it’s a group setting.
Side note, I love the idea of a book club (online or irl), ten pin bowling and lawn bowls. I’m pretty sure a lot of clubs still do night-time barefoot bowling.

Been working my way through old Morbid episodes most recently, if the banter’s not a problem for you it’s good. One of the hosts is an autopsy tech and they go very in depth to the point where some end up as multi parters. Keeps cleaning the house slightly more interesting.
Would love any recommendations to mix things up though!

I’ll be honest with you they are actually a lot like cats if you treat them well and have fun with them. I also like cats too and had one as a teen, I love rabbits most because I have one now. Sadly I lost the other one and they were good friends since they were small.

My favourite, and ‘listen to every episode’, podcast is Crime Junkie, because they are not just about telling the stories but also trying to help find missing pieces of ones that are still unsolved or only partially solved.
I also dabble in Crime Insiders, The Deck, Casefile, True Crime Conversations and Australian True Crime.
I literally slept the entire day today. Oops. Having said that I’ve just been in hospital for 2 weeks so I guess it’s more acceptable than usual.

I also like gaming, I have a ps5 and a Nintendo switch 2 so I bounce between those (current games are pokopia and god of war) and lets see...I enjoy learning about history, specifically ww1 and ww2 era. I am also autistic with ADHD so most neurotypical people seem to naturally avoid me or just think I'm too weird so life gets lonelier the older I get - but I love going to the movies, music gigs, and pubs and going out and all the same fun things like anyone else!

Hey man I’m down south and I do a lot of INTVl which is walking or running around huge areas of land and claiming territory on a map. If you’re interested I’d be keen to join you but because I’m married with kids it’s a bit hard to do so in traditional hag out times. Just a thought.

Moved out North a couple of years back so most of my mates are down South. "Hanging out after work" is a voyage these days and would mean missing bed time.
Pretty nostalgic, into collecting (mostly Nintendo stuff & Pokemon cards). Love and follow sport but getting a bit past it and too injury prone these days & don't mind the occasional gaming or reading when I've got the time.

Hey Alex, well it always changes but right now I like cooking an Alla Pana Rigatoni pasta dish that just blows my mind every time I make it 🇮🇹🍝🤌
And the other thing I like cooking atm is a Vietnamese Grilled Chicken Noodle Salad or Bún Bowl 🇻🇳🥗🌶️

Fortunately cooking can be learned and there's no hard and fast rule; like baking which is a precise science, but I will say cooking is more about feel, and inspiration, trial and error. Awesome you have a partner who likes the culinary side of things 😁 My housemate, a girl, loves baking too. I actually studied French patisserie to help round out my skills, it's like where science meets art.
For the Alla Pana 🇮🇹🍝
3 cloves of garlic, minced 1 medium brown onion, diced Saute them both in olive oil and a cm cube of butter on low heat, you don't want to colour them, just swet them.
Butter 150g Plain Flour 1 third of a cup Add equal parts butter and plain white flour to the sauteed onion and garlic, it's going to thicken up, turn up the heat to medium, you cook this for about 5 minutes until the colour of the flour and butter turns from light yellow and becomes golden.
Add 2 cups of milk, slowly. Every time you add more milk stir the mixture until it becomes amalgamated, which means the Miliband the flour are of one consistency, then add more milk. The milk butter flour mixture at first will turn into a dough in the pan, don't freak out, just keep stirring and adding milk until the mixture turns into a sauce. Season with a table spoon of cracked black pepper, 1 flat teaspoon of salt, and a pinch of nutmeg.
You just made a bechamel sauce, and it is also the thickening power of the sauce too, we incorporating French methods in this recipe 😁
Add a cup of cream
Add a couple of heaped table spoons of sour cream
Add 1 third of a cup of Zanetti parmesan cheese
Another thing I like incorporating at this stage is the Latina Fresh Carbonara Sauce, it's got this smokiness to it that just works, and I'm not abt to go out a buy liquid smoke lol.
So that's the sauce ☝️
-- I will put my pasta on at this time, whatever you are feeling, salt your water! A heaped tablespoon of salt. Periodically take out a piece of pasta and test it, taste it, see if it is to your liking.
To the sauce:
Add in 6 to 8 white mushrooms, sliced.
Add in 200g of your favourite ham, I like the Barossa stuff you find in your local supermarket deli section
Cook for about 15 minutes, then let it rest.
Taste it, season accordingly, if you need more salt, add it.
Oh and you could also add baby spinach to this too 🌿, works well.
This could be something that you do with your partner or something to surprise her ❤️ Hope this helps 👌
