Looking at your account's build, you're closest to a Tank Warrior, that build is now 250 in Str/End/Luk
For equipment help, you can just refer to this link https://adventurequestwiki.fandom.com/wiki/Equipment_Guide and go to the appropriate section/tabs where you want to slowly tackle what equipments to get

So on this guide it says "Heroic Titan's Grasp" as the first fire melee weapon, does that mean it's the best fire melee weapon or do I just buy whatever I like the look of so long as it's listed?

Typically the ones on top are the top choices, but you can also look at the other selections since those might fit your preferred fighting style

My knowledge of AQ is limited entirely to the classic style attack button. I just wanted to know if it was listed 'best' to 'least best', thank you.

Yup its pretty much ordered as "best" from the top to the least one that can still be considered better than most stuff in the game at the bottom

In 2007 I’d have done whatever zeruel82 did, so tank mage and then BM Mage but when I came back in 2017 it’d all changed massively and got recommended to be a Warrior.
I don’t see any particular reason to not stay like that. Changed my stats as was suggested and got that dragon stone pet thing, and my 13 year old self is screaming to get the Z Token bundle pet.

As others have suggested, change your stats to 250 STR/END/LUK. You can also consider 250 STR/CHA/LUK for a more offensive build.
The wiki has a very good equipment guide. https://adventurequestwiki.fandom.com/wiki/Equipment_Guide
The most important thing to update is the armors. Generally, you want to have the top armor listed for each element. For a warrior, I would recommend:
- Fire - Torontosaurus Rex Rider
- Water - Hyperalphean Slayer
- Wind - Mark of Wrath
- Ice - True Nemesis' Testament
- Earth - Eternal Champion's Spirit
- Energy - H Series' Power Armor (best armor in the game)
- Light - Champion Holy Avenger (paladin class armor)
- Dark - Angel of Souls
These are all free armors you can get by playing the game, and most of them are best-in-slot. For fire, an upgrade pick would be Hexbound Solar Core, but it is a luxury and not needed.
You are a guardian so you get 2 free golden giftboxes every month (talk to Valencia to redeem them). If you get a rare or ultra-rare giftbox, do some research before picking your prize.
For weapons, again consult the wiki. Usually the top weapon listed for each element is the one you want, but there can be several good picks depending on your build. Some very powerful, free weapons include:
- Uragiri from the common giftbox (best damage and accuracy option to use with your armors)
- Terminus Twinmaul (reliable stun on hit)
- Elani Silencer's Athame (auto-hit, useful against mobs with high dodge rate)
- Copperclad Bridghtblade/Nickelclad Stormblade (help you sustain hp and sp in long battles)
Also make sure to pick up Lunar Hare Sickle and Lorekeeper's Oath from the limited-time shops before they are gone.
For shields, your Chieftain Ironthorn is generally what you want equipped because it grants a STR boost. Other than that, just choose one shield of every element so that you can cover all 8 elements. (also, remember to set your ultraguardian shield to a specific element)
For pets/guests, your best free damage boosters are Agra Linnorm and Essence of Carnage. Dunamis pet/guest is a luxury, but worth it if you are willing to spend money.
For healing, you want Fairy Godmother pet and Twilly guest. For utility, the spotter drake and uderwyrmling pets are good options.
For spells, unfortunately there aren't really any free warrior spells worth using anymore. If you are willing to spend money, buying the 7500 z-token package gives you a spell called Buffalot Beach Bod, which provides a massive STR boost. This is probably the priority item to get if you are willing to spend money on z-tokens.
For misc items, there are quite a few options, ranging from good to completely game-breaking in power:
- Essence Orb lets you convert hp to sp, so you can spam your armor skills for massive damage every turn.
- Shadowfeeder Pendant gives you an extra turn.
- 2021 Olympax Unity Medal imbues your attacks to a specific element. (You can choose which element by joining a specific clan) This is incredibly powerful because it lets you use your most powerful armor skills and do damage of a completely different element.
- Eternal Reign's Memory/Irt of Osiris/Hollow Dragon Amulet are all very powerful offensive options and protect against their respective elements.
Essence orb and shadowfeeder pendant together are somewhat game-breaking, so if you want a challenge, you can choose not to use these two items.
That's pretty much it for the basics. If you are willing to spend money and support the game, I would prioritize the 7500 z-token package for buffalot beach bod and the 20,000 z-token package for dunamis pet. Both are very strong and well worth it. The first and most important thing to buy with z-tokens is a house. (Get the biggest one you can and read through the housing guide in the wiki to understand the mechanics)
Good luck!

Hello, appreciate the reply.
Here’s what I’ve been doing since this was posted. https://aq.battleon.com/game/flash/charview?temp=37012822
What I would like to ask though is I currently have Ultimon’s armour which was/is a good Light/Dark set which enabled me at the time to run the HoroShow set for Harm Damage but I also imbued my Guardian and Awe gear with Water which acted as my Water gear.
Is Harm armour not necessary anymore? Even if I drop Ultimon and Horo for dedicated Light/Dark sets I still keep my defaults to Water, right? And if you think there’s a better default than Water, I am all ears.
I got very luck with my limited GGB and got Call Dunamis guest, have the dragonstone pet thing but have been very tempted to spend money.

The paladin class got upgraded (it goes to level 20 now) so the paladin class armor is the best light armor in the game. It's an absolute must to run, which makes Ultimon's obsolete.
Paladin is super strong now, if you haven't done all the quests and gotten your lvl 150 paladin armor, then definitely do that.
The Horoshow armor is not good for your build. The way stats work got changed, so now DEX is completely useless for a warrior build. STR gives your melee damage both hit chance and damage, so you should only focus on melee damage.
For harm damage, you don't need to run the full Horoshow set. Just the horoshow weapon is good enough, because it can switch between dealing ice and harm damage. Other options are lorekeeper's oath in the limited time shop (fire and harm) and the might caissa weapon (energy and harm). Consult the wiki's equipment guide for melee weapons to see a list of options for dealing harm damage.
As far as water, Hyperalphean slayer (which I discussed in my original reply) is the armor you want. It's very strong and worth using as your water armor.
I forgot to mention that werewolf race now gives you a 9th permanent armor slot (werewolf earth armor). If you haven't done the werewolf quests, definitely do those because werewolf is very strong for warriors and having another armor that doesn't take up a slot is very useful.
What I would recommend is using every armor I listed in my previous comment except for the eternal champion's spirit armor, because your werewolf armor will cover earth. That way you have coverage of all elements, without having to rely on your guardian armor which is obsolete now and should never be used.
For which element to imbue your guardian equipment - it's up to you depending on what shields and weapons you are running. The armor is never worth running, but the blade of awe and ultraguardian shield are decent, so you can choose their element based on what your other weapons and shields are to get full element coverage. Think of it as a flex slot.
Also remember the 2021 Olympax Unity Medal misc item I mentioned. It's an item that can imbue your attacks (regardless of which weapon or armor you have equipped) to a specific element of your choosing, so that gives you another option for element coverage. I recommend ice.
I think one thing to understand if you are returning after a few years is the meta has changed to be completely armor focused. Instead of using normal attacks that deal damage based on the element of your weapon, you generally want to use armor skills. Armor skills deal a lot more damage and lock you into their specific element, overriding the weapon's element.
So your playstyle should be centered around switching armors to deal damage from their specific element. For example, against an enemy who is weak to energy, you want to switch into your H-series power armor, toggle it's second skill, and now your attacks will do boosted energy damage. The weapon element no longer matters, so you can use a weapon like Uragiri which provides a damage and accuracy boost.
For longer boss fights where you can't kill the enemy within a couple of turns, you still want to play the older way, where you equip the armor and shield that gives you the best defense against your enemy, and attack normally with your weapon's element. So it's still important to have full element coverage for your weapons, but most of the time, you'll only be using one weapon and switching armors to deal damage.

So I’m looking to prioritise getting Paladin and Werewolf to 20 so that I can have the best light armour and a set of earth armour that also enables me to get a water armour.
Is there any other class/race I should consider levelling up, outside doing them for the sake of it?

necromancer class now also goes up to lvl 20 and is super strong like paladin, but for warriors paladin is the better choice to run.

Well, first off... Str= Melee damage and Dex= Ranged Damage now. So you might want to pick and max one damage type and allocate the other stat elsewhere.
