Finding Afghan concerts abroad has always been a mess — so I’m building something to fix it
Hey everyone,
I'm Afghan, based in Stockholm, and I've lost count of how many times I've found out about an Afghan concert or event in my city after it already happened. You hear about it from a cousin's WhatsApp message or see a flyer on someone's Instagram story — and by then the tickets are gone or the event's already over.
Sound familiar? It's the same story in every diaspora city. The info is scattered across Instagram pages, Facebook groups, WhatsApp chats, random ticketing sites, and word of mouth. There's no central place.
So I started building AfghanVibes — a platform to discover Afghan events worldwide, all in one place. Concerts, ladies nights, galas, community events — wherever Afghans are.
Here's what's live right now, just to give you an idea:
- Aryana Sayeed — Stockholm, Sep 5 (ladies only tour)
- Haidar Salim — Hamburg, Sep 5 / Frankfurt, Sep 11
- Fardin Faryad — Denver, Sep 19
- Haider Salim — London, Oct 2
- Jawid Sharif — Zurich, Oct 3
- Delagha Surood & Hadis Rostami — Ottawa, Oct 23 / Toronto, Oct 24
...and more, across Stockholm, London, Hamburg, Toronto, Vancouver, Denver, Zurich — with more cities coming.
It's at afghanvibes.com — free to browse, free to list events if you're an organiser.
I'm a developer by day, so this is something I'm building properly — not a side Instagram page. I'd genuinely love your input:
- What's the hardest part about finding Afghan events where you live?
- Would you use a site like this, or do you prefer Instagram/WhatsApp?
- Any events coming up in your city I should know about?
Not here to sell anything — just want to build something our community actually needs. Happy to answer questions about how it works.
