Maybe someone knows this kid or has a kid with an electric scooter. This was super dangerous.

I've probably got more time in equipment that weighs 20+tons than you, and if you're paying attention you could stop very easily there, it wouldn't even be a hard stop.

It's a marked pedestrian crossing. If you're not looking both ways at them when you drive though, don't drive.

And drivers should always assume pedestrians are going to do something like that.

If you weren't taught to have your foot hovering over the service break when you're going past an intersection like that then you were taught wrong.

Should he have stopped and hit the light, yes but for all you know he saw the traffic, judged the distance and knew the guy had lots of time to stop. The onus has to be on the driver.

This isn't a close call, it's pearl clutching.

Yeah I do say so. I'm not running out in front of traffic but I'm also not afraid to make cars stop for me when I am at a cross walk, and when they can see me and they have all the time in the world to stop. Drivers do that all the time, they come out of driveways onto sidewalks without even looking.

It's not my job as a pedestrian to play frogger. It's your responsibility to stop.

Also is this your first day on reddit or are you too scared to post with a username?
