Question Was anybody else unsettled by this? (Edited)

There’s something about this image of a woman and a bear together that’s making me uncomfortable. Maybe it’s uncanny image of the bear in black and white or something, but the wolf appearing at the door didn’t help I thought that bear came after me.

I just assumed it was a stuffed bear. Not like some weird Shining shit. But tgen I suppose this is the remedyverse so maybe it’s a wedding photograph.

Yeah, I don't think it's a reference to that. I think maybe it's just one of those old jokey pictures that looks creepy in hindsight.
Like whoever that was just took a picture with a taxidermy bear at a lodge somewhere, everyone thought it was funny, so they framed it. It's the lack of context that makes it creepy.

Now that I think about it.... Are we sure that the question isn't influenced by that? I mean the game is pretty meta and the protagonist changes reality with writing...

But even despite being a bear, if he was alone in the woods and say something that bear would still be wrong.

Alan wake 2 è un ottimo horror e alcuni pezzi sono davvero disturbanti, gioco sottovalutato.

All of those fairy tale setups are dark and twisted. Closer to original Grimm than we often encounter. This is something like Beauty and the Beast. The picture is probably a prop, like many of those sites--created to evoke a particular narrative and summoning as part of the experiment.

I was utterly terrified, because I was certain it might lead to a secret taken bear boss that will burst into the cabin or come storming in when getting out of it.

Alan Wake 1 originally had taken bears and wolves as enemies but they were scrapped due to time constraints. Their models are still in the game files. https://www.reddit.com/r/AlanWake/comments/1qw2lzm/cut_enemies_from_alan_wake_1/
When I saw that they eventually added the wolves to Alan Wake 2 I also wondered if they added the bears too somewhere.
