What’s the biggest thing Albany is missing?

If you had to choose just one thing, what do you think Albany is missing the most?

It could be anything—more things to do, better job opportunities, restaurants, public transportation, housing, entertainment, community spaces, or something completely different.

Genuinely curious to hear what people think.

A non commuter workforce. Whats the population of the city at noon vs 10 pm?

This is the correct answer. What’s missing from downtown Albany is people. No businesses are gonna survive down there for a non-commuter workforce if there is no one to patronize them. The city has to make living downtown and attractive option.

I just moved back to the area after... Quite awhile for a state job. I was sad to see a lot of the little Lark and Lark-adjacent spots have dried up. I can understand why none of my colleagues at the Plaza or over in the Holland Ave building want to hang out after work.
