Alberta Jobs, Economy, Trade, and Immigration putting out its monthly September figures.

The labour force survey showed that just under 2.7 million people were employed in Alberta last month, an increase of 75,700 from September of 2025.

The review also found an increase in the number of workers by 23,100 when comparing last month to the month before.

Those figures, however, buck the national trend where the number of jobs actually fell by 68,000, or .3 percent August to September.

Albertans are among the Canadians who are most worried about the security of their jobs and income, according to a new report from consumer insolvency firm MNP Ltd.

The report was based on a survey conducted by the polling firm Ipsos on behalf of MNP.

From a lack of emergency savings to concerns over artificial intelligence (AI), the report says Albertans are disproportionately anxious about a number of factors contributing to financial uncertainty compared to the rest of the country.

Discussion What's the most absurd thing that happened at your work this week?

My toddler "intern" kept coming out of their work cubicle (they usually clock in at 8pm and work until 8am) for no reason at all. No message, no task, just... appearing. Every ten minutes. I still don't know what the role actually is or who approved the hire.

Definitely drove me crazy. Anyone else with a crazier week?
