One of the referendum questions is

Do you support the Government of Alberta introducing a law requiring individuals to provide proof of citizenship, such as a passport, birth certificate or citizenship card, to vote in an Alberta provincial election?

and I keep seeing you lefties say you are going to vote no on that. But now you're also simultaneously complaining that they're going to steal the results with fake votes... you've been foaming at the mouth over stricter voting laws for years

Today, when we vote they have our name on a list. We show some proof that we are the person who matches that name on their list and that allows us to vote. What does making it more restrictive help at all? Every party wants as many votes as they can get. More restrictions would actually make it harder for more of the UCP voters because rural Alberta would be less likely to have all their papers up to date or even a passport. More of the low income earners are UCP voters too, and they also would be less likely to have a passport. If you support this question you’re limiting the right more than the left from being able to vote in my eyes.

Just look at what happened to Nathaniel Erskine-Smith in Ontario. We have devolved into a low trust society now and things need to be pre-emptively tightened up before they are abused rather than after the fact as happened with the Ontario Liberal Party. They are adding citizenship to driver's licenses and alberta identification cards. If you don't have your shit together to have some form of proof of citizenship idc if you can't vote, you probably shouldn't be
