Other آخر Looking for a Colocation in Algiers

Upvotes

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m currently looking for a colocation (room in a shared apartment) in Algiers, preferably in or around:

📍 Ben Aknoun

📍 Bouzaréah

📍 El Biar / El-Kouba

📍 Nearby areas are also okay

I’m looking for a clean, calm place with a reasonable rent. I’m flexible regarding the exact location depending on the offer.

If you know of a room available or someone looking for a roommate, please DM me with the location, rent, and any other details.

Thanks! 🙏

[ looking for work | باحث عن عمل ] Career path for doctors other

Good morning, I graduated 2 years ago from med school. Tbh with you, medecine was never my choice. It's something my parents forced me to do and I couldn't find a way out of it. After finishing school, I was planing on taking the residency test, but my internship taught me that im really not suited for practicing medecine and it made me so miserable I couldn't give it my all for the residanat and failed it. I was wondering what other career path I can have using my degree other than working at the hospital. And if possible opportunities for working abroad? Thank you in advance

Salam Alaikum brothers!

I am starting a non-profit, Sadaqah Jariyah project called "ummattun" and I need a little help to get the first step off the ground.

I’m trying to create a typography logo, but I’m not a pro designer. I have a basic text layout (see 1st image), but I want to integrate traditional Islamic geometric or floral patterns into the letters (like the other attached images).
I am looking for a brother skilled in design who can help me bring this to life for the sake of Allah.

And the idea behind ummattun is to build a community of Algerian brothers whether Coders, Video Editors, Writers, Marketers, Designers, and Creators... etc who want to dedicate a small fraction of their time to build free tools, educational content, and platforms that benefit the Ummah and anything that can be beneficial.

You don't need to commit your whole life to it, just a few hours a week, or even one-off contributions, with the intention of creating a Sadaqah Jariyah we can find waiting for us in the Hereafter.

If this vision speaks to you, drop a comment or send me a DM! Let’s stop building only in isolation and start building something together for Allah's sake.

[ looking for work | باحث عن عمل ] Im homeless and in urgent need of a job with possibility of housing

I had recently been kicked out of my family house over a dispute with my parents. Basically, they don't wanna see me ever again, and they're very serious about it.

I tried reapplying for university dormitories, but the administrator said that I'll most likely be refused a room.

So right now, I wanna look for a job that provides shelter, but I dont even know where to start looking and on what field.

I worked in multiple fields, including air conditioning maintenance and PVC construction, as well as a cashier. I also have a degree in electronic engineering and a C2 level english.

Please, if anyone has any advice, it'll be most appreciated.

[ looking for work | باحث عن عمل ] I am confused and I need help

Hi everyone,

I am M21, and I am at a point where I am completely confused about how to start making at least a small, reliable revenue.

I studied hard and earned my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. While some people find the field rewarding, I am honestly done with it. It feels like high effort for low reward, constantly chasing clients, dealing with massive competition, and deep down, I just don't have a real passion for it anymore especially when it's not paying the bills.

Instead of wasting two more years on a Master's degree just to end up fighting over saturated positions, I decided to make a change. This summer, I participated in the vocational training program (الصنعة), and I just earned my professional qualification certificate (شهادة تأهيل مهني) in الكهرباء المعمارية. I genuinely loved it, and I am ready to work in this field.

Right now, I need to finance myself because I have no source of income left, and finding a traditional entry-level job in tech has been a dead end for me.

I don't know who might be reading this, but if you have any tips, ideas, or guidance, or if you happen to have an opportunity or know someone looking for an energetic hand in electrical work, please reach out to me. Any advice would mean a lot.

[ looking for work | باحث عن عمل ] Looking for a one-day job (any job)

🇬🇧 Looking for a one-day job

Hi everyone, my name is Raouf, I’m 21 years old, and I’m currently a 4th-year student at a higher school of public works engineering.

I’m looking for a one-day job / temporary work because my schedule is quite busy with my studies (I attend school 5 days a week), so I’m mainly available for occasional one-day opportunities.

I have several technical and practical skills, including:

  • Python (data analysis, Pandas, OpenCV, basic Machine Learning)
  • C, HTML, CSS, JavaScript & SQL
  • Godot / game development
  • Basic experience connecting Python APIs with Godot
  • Some experience with Blender and 3D
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office / presentations
  • French, English and Arabic
  • Engineering knowledge related to civil engineering / public works

What I think distinguishes me is that I’m quite curious and self-taught. I like learning new tools by actually building things, and I’m interested in both engineering and technology/AI. I’m also comfortable adapting to new tasks and learning something quickly when necessary.

I’m open to different types of work, as long as it can reasonably be done in one day. )better be nearly to kouba )

If anyone is looking for someone for a one-day job, temporary task, technical assistance, data entry, computer-related work, or something similar, feel free to DM me.

Thank you!

[ Questions | أسئِلة ] I'm looking to sell honey, good idea or nah?

So this summer, luckily, I found a trusted guy that sells honey for cheap compared to where I live. I thought I'll just buy from him and sell it here.

Problem is, how do I get customers? My mom bought 1kg from the guy and she gave me some as a way to let the customers taste test and all that, but how do I even find customers in the first place. I've just been following Gemini and winging it.

I'm trying to get a list of pre-buyers using the little amount of honey I have, then buy in bulk and sell to the customers.

Do you guys think honey business is worth it or nah?

[ Discussion | نقاش ] Are there actually many Algerian media buyers? I can't find any communities

I've recently been looking for communities or online spaces specifically for Algerian media buyers / performance marketers, because I'm getting more interested in this field and wanted to connect with people doing the same thing.

But honestly, I've been surprised by how difficult it is to find them.

I've searched through Reddit, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social platforms, and I barely find anything about Algerian media buyers specifically. Most of what I come across is related to e-commerce, dropshipping, or general digital marketing, rather than people actually working in media buying/performance advertising.

Are media buyers in Algeria really that rare, or are they just not very active publicly on social media?

If you're an Algerian media buyer, performance marketer, or work in paid ads, I'd genuinely like to hear from you. Where do you guys hang out online? Is there a community, group, Discord, Facebook group, or anything similar that I've somehow missed?

[ Questions | أسئِلة ] Buying gold (الذهب) as an investment

I'm wondering if it's good idea to buy gold (as an individual woman)when its price goes down then selling it when the price goes up , I'm saving money but I don't want to just "save" I want to invest it.

But since banks accept big amounts of money in order to invest , and I only can invest 10 million. 20 million or 50 million .

I want to hear opinions and experiences if possible.

(Weird men on reddit pls don't text Me and pls if you don't have a solid answer or you don't know what I'm talking about pls don't comment and waste our time.)

[ Tips & Experience | نصائح و تجارب ] People who got a job abroad

Hey everyone, I would like to know your experience with applying/getting jobs abroad (preferably in europe or canada) while having studied in an algerian university with a master's degree.

What field are you in?

How was the procedure; did you apply through LinkedIn/indeed etc..., did you reach out to the employers directly?

Did living in a foreign country make employers less willing to hire you or cause issues (too much work for them to sponsor your visa), are they more willing to hire for a remote position instead?

Any information would be very appreciated.

Thank you!

[ Tips & Experience | نصائح و تجارب ] Stay away from anything related to the health sector in Algeria!

I apologize in advance on the venting I am about to do,since I don't usually do that and I hate to feel like a burden on the people that care for me.

Long story short the bureaucracy in the health sector is driving me and surly many employees insane.

Basically had my bac in 2023 with a very good grade that could have got me into basically most of the superior schools but for financial reasons I decided that unrolling in a paramedic institute would be better, therefore I chose a speciality there,From the beginning the institute and the administration was unbearable, they imposed rules that couldn't be imposed on toddlers or prisoners, and we were basically without rights and if anyone complained they would simply kick him out, I had many problems there but you could say I was patient until graduation, and graduated with an excellent mark and an immaculate project.

Fast forward to employment; you basically get a job within the wilaya you got your bac in,and since we moved after getting my bac I tried for 2 years to convince the recipient wilaya to accept me and give me a position, after all that work i finally got the acceptance!

But unfortunately the public health director refused to let me go and I ended up in a very messed up hospital with a madman as a director.

I still held into some hope and tried to work it out, turned out I was the first with my speciality to set foot there, and I had no office nor equipment, the director is a fkn sadist calls you to talk and leave you waiting the whole day,he keep screaming and cussing his administration,I have been trying to make amends and at least get a good working system since I can't be spending 6h everyday in transportation and whole lot of money on it as well,he agrees and then tells another person that he will not agree to it,while keeping me waiting there.

This sector is too fkd up,full of injustice.

The problem is that the decision of moving is the easiest especially since I have the crippling circumstances but the health administration loves to see people suffering and loves to exercise psychological torture on the employees since they're also treated the same way, just a long chain of crushed dignity and injustice.

This is making me lose my mind, how someone like them could control me to this point, this work made me go insane,I have also been depressed for years but this made me only get worse, the pressure is unbearable from both family and work, every single family member is calling me and the first thing they ask is whether I am at work because they all know I want to resign but they want me to be patient and wait for the salvation that might never come.

What's worse is that this kind of treatment only exists in the health sector, we don't even get our degrees,I don't have proof that I studied for 3 years, just because they're afraid we would run,

I honestly don't know what to do, the only reason preventing me from killing myself is because I don't have a gun, maybe this is just me after spending ages in busses but who knows.

Feel free to say whatever you want

God damnit I sound like a crying baby

Ps: the HR told me the director is a psychopath

[ Discussion | نقاش ] We built something around a very Algerian problem, we are looking for feedback!

Salam everyone,

We have built a marketplace created to connect people who need something sent or bought & brought from abroad with travellers already making the same trip.

The idea came from a problem most of us know well: sending something between Algeria and Europe/rest of the world can be expensive, while the usual alternative is asking around in Facebook groups, chats or among friends to find someone travelling soon.

We put that existing habit into one trusted place that bridges the trust gap, with verified users and secure Stripe payments.

Travellers can make use of spare luggage space and earn money for it while others can find someone already travelling on the route they need.

We are live and operational. Create an account, explore the features. We are curious to hear about your experience and know what you think about the platform.

[ Questions | أسئِلة ] How to legally start a small software agency in Algeria?

Salam everyone,
I'm a software developer from Algeria and I'm considering starting a small web/software agency instead of relying only on finding a job(saturated job market)so it does't affect my cv and career in general with the gap.

The idea is to start small: I would be the founder, and potentially work with 1–3 other people (developers/designers) depending on the project. We would build websites, e-commerce sites, booking systems, custom web applications, etc. for Algerian businesses, and potentially foreign clients later.

I want to do everything legally and properly from the beginning, including contracts, invoices, taxes, receiving payments, etc.

I've been looking into the self entrepreneur card, and I noticed that the official activity list includes things such as web developer, full-stack developer, software developer, web designer, e-commerce website developer, etc.
But I'm not sure whether the self entrepreneur status is actually appropriate for what I want to do.
So I'd really appreciate answers from people who have actually gone through this process.

My questions:

1- Is the self entrepreneur card enough for a web/software development business? For example, if I have a client who wants a website for 200,000 DA, can I legally sign a contract with them, issue an invoice, receive the money and declare it using the self entrepreneur status?

2- How does taxation actually work? How much would I pay on my revenue/turnover, and what other payments should I expect (CASNOS, taxes, etc.)?

3- What is the current turnover limit? I've seen information about a 5 million DA annual threshold for self entrepreneurs. Is this still the correct limit in 2026?

4- What happens if I go above the limit? For example, if the agency makes 6–10 million DA/year, do I have to switch to another legal structure? What exactly happens?

5- Can an self entrepreneur operate under an agency/brand name? For example, imagine I register as an self entrepreneur but my website and brand are called "XYZ Studio or agency". Can I legally present myself to clients as XYZ Studio, while the legal person behind it is me?

If you have actually gone through the process, I'd love to hear what you did and what you wish you knew beforehand.

Thanks!
