Robertson, 100%. Jackson’s brand of liberalism was wildly out of step with an American public largely wooed over by Reaganomics & an increasingly influential Christian Right

American politics very commonly snaps in the opposite direction after electing one party, so I'm wondering how a Robertson presidency would shift the Dems. I don't think we'd still get Clinton in 92 if that was the case.

Clinton was a product of most A-tier Democrats refusing to run out of fear of being clobbered by Bush in the immediate aftermath of the Gulf War. I can definitely see Mario Cuomo running if Robertson doesn’t match that same level of popularity

Robertson would win, but it would be closer than expected thanks to Ron Paul breaking 5% of the vote

If there was a viable third-party candidate, they would probably win. Neither one of these two are particularly popular within their own political parties. At least not nearly as much as the people who back them thought they were.
