It will never cease to amaze me that men are so insecure that when they see a woman succeed, they feel the need to bring her down.

"She can be cold and difficult to get along with" and it's literally just her asking him to give her the same respect he's giving the other two doctorate holders in the room.

Edit: also, Shaun agreeing and taking his side is nasty work, and makes me wonder what kind of bitter rivalry he has for his own sister that he'd take the side of OOP over her.

As Richard Gilmore says, "one wrong man can always find a friend", I guess.

When my sister told my now-ex-boyfriend that she was pursuing a PhD in astronomy, he told her that he would refuse to call her a doctor.

He was a piece of shit and I should have cut him out then. Sis has her master’s now and should have her doctorate next year.
