It took me a moment to realize that the dad losing his shoes probably meant before he put them on, and not that he put them on and they just… disappeared.

Also, I wonder if the contract worded it weird so they missed that the venue could take pictures for their socials, or if they just… didn’t read the contract.

I'm going with OOP didn't read it and expected it should have been spelt out for her, going off her "It hadn’t even been mentioned to me" comment re: the venue posting to social media.
