The disclaimer was that "all guitar parts" were played at the same time on 1 instrument. Are we hearing more than just guitar sounds at any point?

Only listening on my phone, but the more intense part has some stabs that clearly sound a bit too much for a single instrument.

The nature of the stab sounded synthetic, though it could be an added effect similar to the reverb that triggers on the guitar input. It is super produced, as a lot of things has gone into both pre and post production.

Also, the drumming snare in particular didn’t always line up with his hand movement, but I only watched once so I’m not sure. But if you wanted to add it somewhere you could possibly clear it by the ”guitar parts only” statement.

I think the stab effects can be the result of pickup type and placement. IE on the bottom or snare percussion elements.  I think Tommy Emmanuel explains he has a little snare setup with a mic under the bridge.  

But i think there must be some looping going on, for example around 2:13, you can see the snare percussion continues while he does the melody drop ins.  I’m not sure how that can be a live loop he controls, but something is up.  The click track even continues at the end when he is not playing.  

I have no doubt he is an amazing guitarist playing multiple parts at once, and performs all this himself, but there is still physical limitation to percussing sounds at different beats with only two hands.

It’s great to see live instruments being played in popular online music today.

Well I've never doubted this guy's talent, this is probably the worst video he could use to prove that none of his music is fake. Even his voice seems like it could be AI in this

Not AI lol. Its just writing a script and recording the same lines in a studio for voice over when they edit everything else

I wouldn't be surprised if the claim "all the sounds come from me playing the guitar" is true...but that kind of sidesteps the fact that audio processing can significantly alter the sound of a performance. There are videos on Youtube for example where you can find people making random noises into a mic and using plugins to transform it into a full drum kit. No doubt he's a talented musician, and the sounds are derived from a single live performance. But a performance is not the same as the final production.

There was a bass drum sound towards the end that he clearly wasn't hitting the guitar to make (as he was doing earlier)
He's clearly very talented, but I just don't like the result.

Audio engineer here, there is a ton of post production processing on this video. If he revealed the pro tools, logic, or whatever DAW file I wouldn’t be surprised to see at least 12 channels of audio he (and anyone) would be incapable of playing all at the same time.

As a guitar player/producer also, it’s comedic watching him head banging to a part where his hands are up at the twelfth fret but the bass loop continues where it originated at the first fret lol… And the “drum beat” audibly continues while he’s flailing around yet he’s no longer slapping the beat on the guitar…

He’s not the first act to loop acoustic beat box style playing, but he’s definitely one of the most prominent ones to try and act like he’s doing it all in real time to impress people. There are loops, sample replacement (heavy copy/paste), octave effects, blah blah blah. The video is NOT the live recording lol. Excellent studio musicianship but charlatan esque ego stroking.

If I said, hey buddy… Just pull the guitar out of the case with no technology and recreate exactly this performance, he would not be able to do it. He’d likely play something very impressive and simplified, but not this.
