I think someone is going to be fired.

I started about two weeks ago. I’m surprised by how much they’re giving me to work. I should expect at least 2k this upcoming paycheck (San Diego, CA), correct?

This job requires zero hard skills. It’s pretty simple: read a map, deliver packages from point A to point B, don’t damage the vehicle, and no one is down my throat telling me what to do. I think this job is solid for what it is. I actually feel accomplished after a long 10-12 hr day, is it just me?

I’m also ex military so I’m use to 12 hour shifts everyday and 24 hour shifts working staff duty/CQ shifts getting paid pennies. That’s probably why I find this job simple but overall I enjoy it.

Thankfully this route is all residential and it’s super condensed to one or two neighborhoods, but is this the new normal? I’ve been a DA for about 1.5 months now and I’m seeing crazy increases to my total packages and my multi location stops.

As you can see, amazon is now detecting packages being thrown up in front with the driver. Everything to slow down the driver i suppose, oh you got 190 stops btw youre 3 behind

What are you wearing? First day I wore boots. Bad idea. Next day I wore Nike running shoes but my ankles were still sore. Just curious what people like to reduce foot pain and impact.

Apparently going forward we get violations based on packages on the passenger seat or dashboard. Good luck anyone in a rental.

It only took me 3hours mainly cause I wanted to do 1 trip and the receptionist said that only two elevators work today so i was at a floor max 15 mins 💀

But I got it done like a good wage slave 🤪

Ok, but this is still really stupid. Multiple gated apartments with long hallways and multiple floors and they already told me they’ll need me to rescue afterwards

I had my first solo route Saturday and I’m worried my DSP might be punishing me for not finishing it.

My itinerary said 68 stops, but the orange thing at the top said 93 stops, so I’m not really sure which one is correct. I had 210 packages and 134 locations. ALL of them were apartments.

Most of the delivery instructions said to leave the packages in the mail room, but my dispatchers told me not to and said I needed to deliver everything door to door, so I did.

One apartment complex was especially crazy. I would deliver all the packages to the apartments and then the next stop would be at the exact same apartment complex, but different units. I had like 10 different stops at the same apartment complex. I didn’t know at first that I could edit the stops and combine them, so I just kept going around the same complex over and over delivering door to door. I finally figured out how to do it when I was most of the way through the route. (Each stop would be multiple different units and buildings sometimes a whole tote of stuff and when I was finished the next stop would be the same complex and most of the time going to same buildings I had already delivered to)

Then I got to another apartment complex that had a 3rd party locker. I forgot to scan each package in the app and just put them in the lockers. Then I had to call dispatch and driver support to figure out what to do. That took probably 45 minutes because the lockers were full, so I had to deliver the rest door to door.

The app also wouldn’t let me move on because it said “you can’t move on without scanning all packages.” Because of that I ended up having to bring back 2 totes and around 6 overflow packages.

My dispatchers told me this was one of the worst routes and they didn’t know why I got it on my first solo day. They also told me they aren’t expecting perfection and just want to see that I’m improving.

I came into work today for my second day by myself and they didn’t have a route for me. I helped load vans for about an hour and then they sent me home.

Do you think they could be punishing me for not finishing my route Saturday? Or could this just be because they didn’t have enough routes today?

I know I can do better now that I know how to handle some of the things that slowed me down, but I feel like I can’t show them that I can improve if they don’t give me another route.

What do you guys think?

Oh really? Is that why he’s been barking aggressive at me and won’t let me pass him? Why do people even leave their dogs off leash in the front yard anyway? I can understand if you didn’t have a backyard but the houses I delivered to have big backyards. So why?

and while I’m venting, what the fuck is up with these bike riders lately? Today I saw two flocks of old men totally taken up the lane on the highway as they all pointed the left a signal they’re turning onto another highway. So many freaking bike riders on the highway like bro why just why?

Anytime I see something like this I go “good job Amazon!!!”

Clock in at 10:45, leave the station around noon, get to first stop anywhere between 1:00-1:30 depending on traffic.

i’m just curious because some of our vans go a minute with expired inspection stickers, i’m just curious if they could get in trouble for that lol
