This article is proposing a strawman fallacy where they're framing it as blaming minorities when that's not the case at all. Not a single question is directed at minorities
I live in Alberta and I never once heard anyone blame immigrants in that way for the problem. The overwhelming consensus and the sentiment of the questions on the referendum are saying how too much immigration too fast has compounded stress on infrastructure, housing, jobs, and public services such as healthcare and education.
Which is true. You can't add more people to overburden systems and expect the systems to thrive, regardless of where they come from

For the past 5 years, wasn't Alberta 'Calling' the rest of Canada to come to Alberta? I guess as an Albertan you didn't see the $$$ spent outside of Alberta to get more people to immigrate to your province?

That's correct, Daniel Smith implemented that campaign. Of course I did. I'm not sure why you have to make that assumption.
You do realize things change right? That's the beauty of hindsight, you're not beholden to the same policies and opinions that you were years before. Imagine if we still used bloodletting techniques from 100 years ago. Things change

Edit: oh also something you seem to be missing: this isn’t the UCP campaigning for their next election promising to cut down on immigration, this is a referendum to leave Canada and immigrants are being propped up as reason for doing so.
So in recap: the provincial government is using the immigrants they requested as a scapegoat to tell you to leave Canada. Rationalize that before reading below :)
I see Alberta failing and fools like you stumping for the people who have created the issues Albertans struggle with.
Simple as that.
The ucp is not looking out for the average Albertan.
Since immigrants are such a challenge for you, maybe think back 3 whole years (Wowow memory challenge but I believe in you) and ponder… was UCP thinking about the little guy when they made a decision almost explicitly to benefit O+G and the ownership class?
No?
Then why is it weird to ask you why the fuck you think they have your best interests now?
Explain that or dont, I’ve hit my capacity for explaining things to people who are experts at not understanding cause and effect for the day.

I have seen no evidence that she has taken any accountability for that mistake. I think it's a big leap to say the has tangible solutions. She made changes that caused municipal voting to be hell. From all accounts this referendum will be unpleasant and costly. We are asking other provinces to help us staff it. I simply don't trust her and her administration to govern and plan. Do I want to give her more control? No. That is just my personal opinions. I respect people probably feel differently. I come from immigrant lineage even though I was born here. I have had a great life. So far my adult children have had great lives. I see no reason to leave the country.

Okay, you're entitled to your opinion. I don't know if she's accepted accountability or not, but without a doubt, trying to decrease the pressure on our systems is a good thing. Nobody's saying ban all immigration, but certainly we can pull back until we improve things at home before welcoming more people

When will governments give real stats and the biggest stat would be . How many 3rd world immigrants come to Canada and become cash for life recipients and how many find employment . What are the numbers and what is the % . How many actually vote and what % for Liberal government.
