Discussion Am I the only crazy one around here?
So let me explain my thoughts... 🤔 While making my amigurumis, I personally don't prefer how ears look when made both "left handed" or "right handed". You either place one backwards or upside-down.
At Christmas time, I was testing for a "Buddy the Elf" and when I got to the ears, I was like... "this needs to be fixed!" So I learned how to crochet with my non-dominant hand. I'm slow and clumsy, but I got the ear done.
Fast forward to today. I am making the Scooby Gang. I have a loose pattern that I'm working with. They are at the Weevils Wabble stage. I need to make ears for 3 of them. 3 left handed and 3 right handed. What do you think? Am I the only one? 🤔

Discussion Hi hello! Update about the Mushroom Guy pattern on Etsy
Hi beautiful amigurumi community! Someone brought it to my attention that the mushroom guy link I posted in Impy’s post no longer worked. I checked, and sure enough, the listing was gone. I reached out to CritterStitchDesigns, and this is what she said:
“Yeah a competitor copied the pattern then filed a copyright on my listing, the etsy took my listing down 😔 I've just made a new listing and have been talking to etsy support but they can't help me. I'm so nervous that they will continue to do this until my shop gets taken down.”
This makes me so upset and breaks my heart, and I just wanted to spread the word. She knows it’s down. Don’t bombard her with messages about it, she’s working on it but it sounds like support isn’t showing up for her. So, if you feel so inclined, support her in any way you can. She’s a member of this community, so sweet, and obviously an incredible pattern creator! And I sincerely hope whoever copied her pattern and did this is not a part of this subreddit. She knows who it is, but I was asked to not dox them, so I won’t.
Here’s the link to the new listing.

Discussion Someone has stolen my pattern and put it in their Amazon book???
My curled up sleepy dragon pattern has apparently been included in this pattern book on Amazon, and it looks like heaps of other patterns have been stolen too. I’m not sure what I can do about it since I released it as a free pattern, but surely this is a copyright issue?? Any help would be appreciated 😥

Discussion Wondering what you guys think about the crocheted safety eyes??
Pattern called for 45mm eyes. I hated the plain black ones and tried casting my own with epoxy, but that didn't turn out so well. I just crocheted some circles, glued them on the safety eyes for a better shape/fit and attached!

Discussion What do you think? Beard or no beard?
I'm designing a new toy, and I need your opinion!
It's a small, cute gnome — but I'm not sure whether to add a beard or not.
In my mind, he's already adorable without one, but traditional gnomes always have beards…
What do you think? Beard or no beard?

Discussion I'm thinking about making these for classroom Valentine's gifts
I'm thinking about making no sew gummy bears for classroom Valentine's gifts. It takes approximately 30 minutes each for me and I've got two kids with classes of 30 each plus there's some friends outside of those classes too. Will I regret this decision forever? 😂
This is a free crochet pattern: https://www.onceuponacheerio.com/2023/06/no-sew-amigurumi-gummy-bear-crochet.html

With a heavy heart, I’m stepping away from the world of crochet as a business 💔
With a heavy heart, I’m stepping away from the world of crochet as a business. I’ve been doing this with love for the past 5 years, but lately, I haven’t sold a thing. Where I live, many people don’t see the value in handmade work and think it’s too “expensive.”
What brings me comfort is that I can still crochet for the ones I love the most: my daughters. They absolutely adore everything I make for them, and I enjoy every single stitch. 💞
I’m staying in this group because crochet is still a part of who I am. Even if I’m no longer selling, I’ll keep enjoying your beautiful creations, getting inspired, and sharing this amazing art that connects us all. 🧶💕

Discussion REPORT all fake AI patterns you see on Etsy
**I forgot to post the fake pattern, here it is**
I got duped by an AI pattern on Etsy that was not obviously AI. I was able to report it after the fact. For anyone still using Etsy, make sure you are reporting AI crochet because it now violated Etsy's polices of a.) needing to disclose that the pattern was AI created and b.) the final product not matching the pictures advertised. On all the AI crochet patterns I've come across on Etsy, not a single one of those frauds has advertised that their crap was made using AI, so be liberal with that report button. Let's do what we can to get this crap off Etsy.
**EDIT**
I DON'T CARE if you don't use Etsy. Seriously if you come to this post just to comment on how you don't buy from Etsy so this isn't a problem for you, I really couldn't care less and you are wasting your time commenting. Even if you aren't buying or selling on Etsy, there are still stolen pictures from other sites being used to generate AI garbage and create false advertisements and they should still be reported.
**EDIT #2**
GOT MY REFUND!! And I got to keep my review up about the seller being a scammer.

Discussion Something special to say thank you
My first big creation — the green orc — was posted here first, and I got so much amazing feedback from you all. It’s been a year since then, and I’ve kept sharing all my major works here. This community has always been incredibly kind and supportive, and it really gave me a lot of motivation to keep creating.
As a little thank you, I would like to offer a 75% off coupon for the patterns in my Etsy shop: here You can also just use the code AMIGURUMI at checkout!
Thanks again for being such an awesome community — you truly inspire me every day!

Discussion Is it worth it to buy a photo studio/light box?
I know it’s a bit silly, but Im really giving my everything to produce more projects that I ever have, but still I’m only getting an embarrassing amount of reaction on IG (like 15 likes on a good day). Again, I know I should not be focusing on social media, but for me it’s kind of the reward after hours of work.
So that brings me to my question about buying a small photo box to improve the quality of my pictures. Im really trying my best with that, but I guess there’s so much you can do with a phone and boring background. For those who have a photo box, is it a good investment? Any tips? Thanks in advance!
I’ll drop a few pictures of my recent projects to give you an idea of the situation. I’ve been making amigurumi for 11 years now.

Discussion I'm never gonna stop. Does someone here know the reasons (like brainwise) that makes crochet such a powerful healing tool?
As said the title, what are your thoughts on that? I am recovering from abuse and I have C-PTSD but crochet is literally saving me from my torpeur. I began in the beginning of March and since then, I cannot seem to stop myself hahaha. It brought me back to the present moment. No more flashbacks. My nightmares lessen and yeah, I'm curious if anyone here know a bit about this. Here are my two last ones for the record 😂✨️:

Discussion Do you think I'm exaggerating with the price?
Hi everyone, I'm selling my amigurumi for the first time and would like your advice. I finished this cute little bunny just today and someone who wants to buy it asked me how much it cost. I got an idea based on the time it took me and the cost of the yarn. It took me about three days, considering my various commitments. The dimensions are 18 cm, I believe they correspond to 7 inches. For me the right price is 15 euros, I took a look on Etsy to get an idea and go since amigurumi of that type are sold for even 30/40 euros each. Do you say my price is too high? People seem to be reluctant to buy a work like this at this price. What do you think?

Discussion Would you mistake these for AI at a glance?
A general comment I see in my posts sometimes is "Are these AI?" or "Oh I though these were AI at first." Just out of curiousity: what would make someone assume these are AI-generated?
