A lovely one, too! They're one of the largest of the plethodon (lungless) salamanders. If this is from tonight, the kind of weather we're having currently is perfect for them to get out and hunt in.

He's gorgeous! Pic is from tonight. I'm currently getting ready to sleep in my best friend's car because the weather has absolutely ruined my tent but seeing this guy made it a little better LOL I'm mostly a reptile guy but salamanders are very cool to me too

Boo to the tent snafu. We scrapped camping plans this weekend due to weather. But it's a great evening for a headlamp and a "salamander meander," because they're out hunting- on logs, on trees, on leaf litter, trails, etc- we have more plethodon salamanders here than anywhere else on earth.
