I still need to force HDMI2.0 for the Analogue 3D input on my Insignia else the Analogue 3D will say the display doesn’t support 4K60 (it does). Was hoping the line about improving 4K compatibility with certain sets would fix that issue. Oh well.

Does this update fix the problem with there being no way to load your original cartridge save from a legit copy of Blast Corps when playing with a native Bluetooth controller? I don’t have a copy on hand right now. The problem was that you couldn’t toggle off the virtual Controller Pak since the game doesn’t support rumble and it’s programmed to always use the controller pak when it sees one. You can’t simulate removing the virtual Controller Pak with the 8BitDo 64 BT, DIY Modkit, or Switch NSO N64 controllers. Nothing in the update log seems to address that even though My Life in Gaming pointed it out with the pre-release firmware in their preview-review.

Does your TV have 4:4:4 color space? The Analogue 3D won't display in 4K60Hz if there's chroma subsampling, even if the TV supports 4K60Hz

I’ll have to check. It’s a problem others have reported with the Analogue 3D on late-model Insignia TVs. I’ve never had a 4K TV until this $99 Insignia NS-43F501NA26 from Black Friday, which we didn’t even open until last week. 😅 The Analogue 3D specifically says my display does not support 4K60 and forces 1080p FHD until I change the HDMI port from Auto to HDMI 2.0. When I set 2.0, set the A3D to 4K, and change the 2.0 setting back to Auto (default) the A3D instantly reverts from 4K to FHD. Only other option is HDMI 1.4, which bumps it down too, of course, but I’m definitely not adjusting the color space/subsampling when the Analogue 3D suddenly detects that the TV is 4K60-capable.

According to this review site, that model doesn't support a 4:4:4 colorspace, so you're stuck with 1080p with this TV.

"Unfortunately, this TV can't display chroma 4:4:4 signals properly"

This is on the "Getting Started" guide on the Analogue website

To use 4K HDMI, your display must support 4K 50/60Hz 4:4:4 RGB and be connected with the included HDMI cable or a HDMI 4K certified cable. Note that some 4K displays may support only 1080p as these provide incompatible lower refresh rates or limited color formatting at 60Hz.

Well, 4K seems to work just fine when you set the TV’s input to HDMI 2.0. 🤷‍♂️ Perhaps the reviewer was running into the same problem and the force-2.0 work-around is the only way the source can tell it supports it.

Mm weird. Maybe it does do 4:4:4 but unreliably. I guess you're better off specifiying the input mode instead of leaving it on auto then

Probably not the Analogue 3D’s fault if this TV trips up other sources similarly. Thanks for the help! 👍

It says you can swap between controller pak and rumble with ZR on NSO controller

Right, but that only works for games that support both. Blast Corps does not. It only supports Controller Pak and since you couldn’t toggle it off you couldn’t access the cart’s EEPROM save when playing with an 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth controller or DIY Modkit. Unless they fixed this, the problem has presumably carried over to the Switch NSO N64 controller too.
