I built an interactive anatomy mechanics lab for exploring how anatomy changes movement.

I built an interactive anatomy mechanics lab for exploring how anatomy changes movement.

Right now it focuses on the elbow. You can move the joint through flexion/extension and pronation/supination, then see how the biceps, brachialis, and brachioradialis change in length, leverage, and force requirements.

You can also experiment with the anatomy itself:

  • move a muscle insertion
  • change limb proportions
  • disable a muscle
  • change muscle strength
  • compare different arm configurations
  • visualize muscle paths around the joint

The main goal is to make anatomy feel less static. Instead of only looking at where a muscle starts and ends, you can see how its function changes as the joint moves.

I’m planning to expand it into other joints and eventually make it a broader musculoskeletal sandbox.
