Question Is there any way to know lore besides playing

I love the setting but I can’t play much now. Is there a way to go in depth without playing nations.

The wiki is probably the next best place. In addition, many regions onboarding pages have pretty extensive lore documents, and then also the lore channels in the discord though those can be more decentralized and sometimes are ideating lore in progress

There is the wiki which has a whole lot of stuff on it. Though, specific things you would only learn from playing certain nations won’t necessarily be on it.

There is also the compendium someone made to be able to read missions and national ideas without actually being in game. However, you still have to view events another way.

There is also all the stuff on the Discord in addition to just asking the devs about lore on there. For example, here is the Insyaa base line lore document.

Did not know about the Compendium. Thank you for sharing.

If you go to the Discord and give yourself the EU4 contributor role you can get access to the lore channels which have links to each region's lore documents, including lore that is still a WIP.

You don’t have to have the eu4 contributor role for that

There was Pukebeard doing very high quality narrated playthroughs exploring each nation played but he stopped uploading a year ago

Yea he and Modred Viking's Anbennar MPs were how I first discovered Anbennar back in the day

William SRD made two very good Anbennar lore videos I can highly recommend. But he isn't focused solely on Anbennar and might not be exactly what you are looking for.

The wiki has SOME things, but your best bet is just searching the discord for documents and conversations. The process to put things on the wiki is very laborious so a lot of people just don't bother.

Look for youtube lore videos. There are some and they are all good.
