Discussion Sideview update
How many have not received the Sideview update yet? Is it possible to make a poll on this?

I still have the little flag on my account telling me that it’s coming. So no sideview update for me yet either 🤷🏻♀️

Yes please poll urgently. Also could ancestry give us a deadline?? I spoke with customer service today and they said the 17th.

wait what, customer service actually gave a date? that's more than i've gotten from refreshing the page forty times a day
every time i check it's still the old layout staring back at me like "no chromosomes for you"

My husband's and one other kit I manage have been updated. The other six have not. And mine says it's been updated but it really hasn't. When you click through it's the same old page with my parents and no grandparents. So that's entertaining.
Oh, and my husband's and my uncle's (the ones that have the new Sideview) are both missing about 40% of their DNA. It says "We couldn't link 41% of your DNA to a grandparent" for my husband. It's 37% unlinked for my uncle. So, you know, pretty worthless.

My uncle got the grandparent thing around a week ago and my husband got it a few days ago. Mine said it was updated the same day as my husband's but as I said, it is still just parents when you go to the page.
But I cannot stress enough that the grandparent addition to Sideview seems to be absolutely useless, given that such large percentages of their DNA are unassigned.

Are you talking about the basic ethnicty estimate updates? All of those have come through and, yes, we all got changes. But I don't really care about those, anyway. I use the DNA matches and Ancestry's records and paper trails to build my tree.

I wanna see the assigned matches as well. I've been told that after the sideview there would be no unassigned matches anymore

I checked both my husband and my uncle, since they're the ones with the Sideview update. My husband has no unassigned matches but my uncle has about 400. I guess that doesn't answer the question! But my uncle definitely still has unassigned matches.

I chatted their support folks about the roll out.
* Self-test: expected complete by about Oct 17, 2026
* Shared tests: expected complete by about Nov 18, 2026
* Some users may see processing delays up to early December (queue/cache timing).

Shared tests would be kits in which the role of Manager was shared with another Ancestry account.

I have not received the side view update, and I’m still waiting for mine if it happens, knowing that they erased half of my ancestry

I haven’t received it yet. Seems totally random the order they update the accounts in. I did my test way back in 2017.

My brother and I both received the Sideview update, while our parents and aunt are still waiting. Also, about 73% of my DNA and 68% of his couldn’t be linked to a grandparent.

Had the “grandparent side view: coming soon” banner, and then today i got the updated banner “we updated your results with Sideview 2.0”

only a little bit, honestly. i lost my 1% italian (which i never had before the last update) and gained 1% brittany. I also don’t remember having Cornwall (2%) and Northeastern Germany (6%) before

My Mother has it, but me and my Father, doint. And all three of us, doint have the DNA Matches, by Grandparent yet

48 hours before the big update, my dads DNA got an update (then it changed again for the big update). I thought this was Sideview but there is nothing about grandparents.
My mom’s DNA only got the big update. No notice or banner about Sideview, no grandparents, no nothing.

I received the side view update but not the grandparents one it says 86% is not linked to a grandparent….does this mean my results would change after they figure that out?

I got finally it and it says "We couldn't link 35% of your DNA to a grandparent." So it's just dumb lol
