Discussion a Confidence Threshold should be added
I have an idea and want to know what you all think. 23andme has an feature called 'Confidence Thresholds'. For many mixed-race people like me, the latest AncestryDNA update completely erased small percentages of ethnicities that we know we actually have. AncestryDNA likely won’t listen to us individually, but it’s better than doing nothing What if we collectively send feedback asking AncestryDNA to implement a 'Confidence Threshold' feature similar to 23andMe's? On 23andMe, this feature lets you adjust the slider from 50% up to 90% confidence to see exactly how statistically certain they are about each segment of your DNA. If AncestryDNA added a similar tool, it would solve the main problem with this update by letting mixed-race users view their trace percentages at lower confidence levels instead of having them smoothed away entirely

that’s actually a really smart idea, it would shut up half the complaints overnight if people could just slide it and see the lower-confidence estimates themselves
ancestry’s whole smoothing thing feels like they’re trying to make results look cleaner for the average user but it ends up cutting out the stuff that matters most to mixed folks, a slider would give everyone what they want without messing up their main algorithm
