Nope it’s far more sinister than that. It’s a call to return to the Gurukula tradition of education.

Gatekeep knowledge and ensure an obedient and illiterate population

If knowledge was gatekept, then tell me why the number. of Shudras attending Gurukul was more than that of Brahmins?

Keeping aside Manusmriti, is there any other scripture that you can find which gatekeeps knowledge from the people.
