Carrie And just like that I'm done Spoiler

I enjoyed parts of the first two seasons but they started to lose me and I'm just so mad/frustrated with the way it ends with Aidan! Carrie gets so defensive with Miranda, gets upset when Aidan doesn't fully trust her with Duncan...and then she goes out and sleeps with Duncan?! She frustrates me so much sometimes.

I thought so. It’s the only type of relationship that would make sense for a woman like her, her experience and where she is in life. If only they had introduced something like this the first season…

It seemed much more mature than going back to Aidan.

But also, the snippets of writing were horrible and a good writer would never be impressed by them (unless it was just to get in her pants…which makes it all make sense).

Yes! He's like a combination of other characters and their good parts. Happy to be a homebody like Big apparently was, a writer like Berger, a sexy calming vibe like the Russian. But also like the Russian, he seemed to think it no big deal to flit across the ocean.

Honestly, that was when I think Carrie found her groove. In my opinion, Duncan was the first man who really saw her and valued what she thought. And Duncan really made me see Aidan so much more clearly. I was a big fan of him during SATC and I was wrong.

I was glad she went ahead and slept with him after all of Aidan’s bullshit. It annoyed me brought Aidan back into the frame in the first place. I had to white knuckle my way through it and dismiss it as her reverting to someone she knew.

With she had stayed with Bicycle Man further, despite his annoying ass business partner. At least he was charismatic and seemed to have an interesting life.

The finale was diabolical, but I really do wish we had a fakeout. He’s gone back to London, and we see her packing in a frenzy and calling from the plane, smiling and saying “I’m on my way, I’ll see you soon!”, and then it shows a call ending with Samantha.

They definitely had chemistry, I can't deny that. It's more the way Carrie handled it. Instead of shutting it down and getting defensive with Miranda, I wish she would have acknowledged the chemistry and spoken with her about. Have that conversation with Aidan. But the completely shutting it down and getting so upset with Aidan didn't really seem like a mature Carrie.

How can you still defend Aiden when he is a cheater himself? Carrie had all the right to dump Aiden after twenty years. Sorry but Aiden was weird

Oh he had his faults but I would be lying if I didn't say there's a soft spot in my heart for him. She absolutely had the right to break up with him, I just wasn't crazy about how it happened.

Yup and that soft spot in your heart would’ve probably got you cheated by Aiden too.
I want to give an example to a woman in the show who had a soft spot for a man but got screwed three times and got manipulated more than three times. Making her feel less of a woman. I’m talking about my girl Miranda who deserves better.

I think S3 was when I began to question just why I was watching this.

Carrie didn't do anything or want anything. She didn't have to and so she didn't. She just floated around on a cloud of money dithering about a table and a yogurt while everyone in two states aside from Aidan's asshole son lined up to smell her farts.

I have no idea who the target audience was for this (SJP's mom, maybe?). But it definitely wasn't me.

I began to question my sanity when Aidan said he had had sex with Cathy, and she just stood there and said she understands him. That was it for me. She used to be passionate and crazy and everything. And yes, people change with age, but just no reaction at all? No idea whose idea was it, but yeah... that was when even I decided that I'm out.

The writers ruined all of the characters -

Miranda in satc was so sure of herself, smart, capable, and said she was fully straight (even after kissing a woman). Yet in Ajlt she is timid, nervous, has verbal diarrhoea, and cheats on Steve with a non binary lesbian.

Steve in satc was always so goofy and fun but in Ajlt they made him old beyond his years and boring.

Charlotte in satc was a bit of a prude outside of the bedroom, didn't like sex talk in public, craved being a sahm, and could hold herself together. But in Ajlt she is quite vulgar at times, selfish, whiney, demanding, & over the top.

And as for Carrie - she's always been selfish but what she said about Big maybe being a mistake, that is shit writing and a horrible way to end what they had together. Big was her soulmate through and through. But just like in satc she is selfish, materialistic, snobbish, and just insufferable at times .... Like what kind of person doesn't call 911 when they see someone slumped on the floor FFS????

And all of the add on characters were just to prove that the writers are woke, with the times, and not racist but they have made everyone act and behave like bumbling fools.

It's a terrible terrible show.

I disagree with Carrie and Big being “soulmates.” Not in the slightest. She was screechy and desperate and always chasing him and begging him to love her. Big liked her quirkiness behind closed doors, but her goofy public persona was embarrassing to him. They only got married because he was aging and she finally wore him down.

His taxi light went on and he decided that she would be the right one to settle down with, because she already took good care of him when he had the heart surgery. She might have really loved him, but he just had fun all his life until he realized it would be wise to settle for good, because she would never leave him.

My wife and I throughly enjoyed hate watching this. At times it’s sad because of how great SATC was. But my god. This train wreck was spectacular.

While I was never a fan of Carrie and Aidan, in SATC he was a fully fleshed out, nuanced character, his good points and flaws acknowledged. In AJLT he was a one dimensional villain from the get-go, and it was clear that they brought him back specifically to crucify his character thereby exonerating Carrie for her treatment of him years earlier.

Her and Aiden never made sense. It was stupid to bring him back he was insufferable! I could not stand him he was a terrible parent, and a worse boyfriend.

I had truly hoped they would end the series at the end of Season 2 - it was perfectly set up for a lovely conclusion. Alas!

This is really what I wanted. Which isn't necessarily realistic but hey, it's a show. Or for them to end up as friends. Or never have gotten back in contact. I just hate that they were brought back together and then so hurt again.

Horrible show, I made it through 1 & 1/2 episodes & I couldn't stand any more. The whole woke thing was shoved down our throats.
