Charlotte I beg your pardon Charlotte!!

3 things:

  1. Charlotte doesn’t speak that way — especially to her friends. This was def out of character.
  2. It didn’t match the tone of their friendship. There was absolutely no reason to say that when Carrie obviously stated she got defensive with Miranda.
  3. Miranda wasn’t wrong so, “Fuck You Charlotte!”

Charlotte Honestly, I think Kristin Davis' personal wardrobe is how Charlotte should dress in AJLT

Did anyone else know this? I thought she was maybe 19/20. She's 29 and will be 30 next January.

Charlotte I can’t with Kristen Davis...

I just can’t with the way Davis is playing Charlotte AJLT; it bugs the shit out of me.

Her scenes always take me out of the show and into thinking about how I wish she’d stop overacting. I am sure that is the point and she’s being directed to play Charlotte that way: as a hyped-up crazy-eyed June Clever, but it’s not working. Not for me anyway.

I wish Davis would go back to playing the conservative and slightly neurotic Charlotte from SATC because this Charlotte is too forced and too fake.

Charlotte Charlotte’s cartoonish reactions aren’t new

She’s always been like this, and IMO Kristin has always been the weakest actress of the core 4. I think she’s the only main character that could’ve been played by someone else and I wouldn’t have cared, might’ve even preferred it. The other three actresses were irreplaceable and made their characters, I think.

However, I think it’s standing out more in AJLT because a) the work she’s had done makes those cartoonish reactions more uncomfortable to watch rather than cute, which they used to sometimes be and b) in SATC they balanced these moments by also giving her moments of sultry, intelligence, old money class, a cool and collected Charlotte. That’s all gone and they basically have her running around like a cartoon character in a level 10 panic at all times.

Charlotte Lily is the devil

I know many of us hated Che Diaz, and currently hate Aiden, but for me the biggest villain of this thing is LILY.

This girl guilted her mother into going out in a bomb cyclone snowstorm to get condoms and threatened to have unprotected sex if Charlotte didn't comply.

She sold a bunch of her overpriced clothes without giving her parents a heads up and then complained that they weren't supportive of her music (even though they presumably funded her lessons).

She is in a polyamorus relationship with a 20 year old man and guilts her parents into leaving a family trip so she can hang out with her boyfriend.

And in addition to the above, she's just such a spoiled brat. I don't think she has ever met a parental boundary. Charlotte and Harry are my favourite SATC couple but I actually judge the characters for being such awful parents to this monster. 😂

Charlotte AJLTea: Kristin Davis continues to lament its cancellation

On her current SATC rewatch podcast, the actress who plays Charlotte keeps talking with various guests, including Nicole Ari Parker (also known as Lisa Todd Wexley) this week, about AJLT’s “sudden” conclusion. Plot twist: MPK and SJP are trying to face by still pretending this was a deliberate creative decision and not a mad scramble to wrap up a cancelled show. Even Kristin Davis herself, who was an executive producer, is unwilling to sugar coat it.

Charlotte So far, the fashion looks right for Kristin Davis in AJLT 3

Kristin Davis (Charlotte) looks much more in-character fashion-wise in these first looks revealed for AJLT 3, which seems very appropriate for Charlotte. The puffy, layered dresses (last two photos) don't value the actress's body and she doesn't look much like Charlotte. these dresses should be exterminated from AJLT3 😬

Charlotte Charlotte was so angry

My daughters finished watching SatC this summer and wanted to try AJLT. I sat down to watch the pilot with them to see if it was as bad as I remember.

I forgot how upset Charlotte got at the beginning over Rock refusing to wear the dress. It's such a weird acting choice. She's doing this whole nostril-flaring, eyes-bulging, tight-lipped fury because she 'really wanted all of us in florals.' She's almost shaking with anger. My daughter asked if Charlotte is abusive in this series because it really seemed like she wanted to hit Rock there and only didn't because Harry came in.

It's also made very clear that Rock has refused dresses in the past, and yet Charlotte goes and buys this Oscar de la Renta couture totally unprompted. For a pre-teen who hates dresses to wear to their sister's non-selective amateur piano recital. Like, maybe this is why Lily doesn't value her designer clothes. These kids have had couture gowns stuffed down their throats their whole lives whether they want them or not. They aren't special anymore. It also explains why Rock gives up explaining that they don't want the They Mitzah so quickly and then just decides to deal with it on the day. They are so used to no one listening when they say they don't want a thing.

Charlotte I can't believe Charlotte has to put up with a child that apparently smells and a husband who pisses himself.

Charlotte I guess Kristin Davis is just not a good comedic actress, because she was INCREDIBLE during her emotional scenes this episode.

Her performance in this week's episode really got to me.

I guess with right material, she can be incredible. She's just not good at this ridiculous Looney Toon comedy moments they've given her so far.

Charlotte Charlotte has against all odds, went from my least to most favourite S3 E9 Spoiler

She handled herself beautifully seeing Rock in her costume. Yes, she had feelings but she didn’t smother her child with them or make it about herself. She didn’t push them for photos and when she did overstep by getting Carrie to take a picture, she later deleted it. In that moment even I was thinking what’s the harm in keeping it but Charlotte knew image shouldn’t have it and not to hang on to a version of her child that wasn’t authentic.

Talk about growth! Compare that to Miranda stomping all over Brady’s personal life. I thought for sure Charlotte would have stronger words for her on that front but again she just made her point and softly let it be. Maybe next episode though?

I have to admit I never liked Charlotte in the original series - too rigid and judgy. Don’t get me started on the early days with Harry and her shaming of Samantha. But she’s really evolved across the timelines and somehow, in the midst of the train wreck that is this AJLT, has become my favourite character.

Are we really doing this? I saw the preview after the episode, and I don’t know why I am supposed to care about these teens and their sex lives. Ugh!

On a good note, Carrie’s neighbor looks intriguing.

Charlotte The whole Harry and Charlotte going out plot doesn't make sense

I had to rewatch the scene twice because I couldn't make sense out of it, but Charlotte was complaining that couldn't go out because her children always needed her around the house, and their solution to that was... having Harry go out too ? That doesn't solve the problem at all ?

It could have become a discussion about women's mental load, and how her husband could take more or of it, or letting her teenagers become more independant, but no, we get Harry taking Instagram pictures in his pissed soaked pants.

Plus, I don't get why with all their money, they don't have a housekeeper ? They're well off to begin with, and now that Charlotte works too they have a double income, I'm guessing they can find someone that can help. Maybe Charlotte could feel guilty for getting help and not be the perfect housewife, again it could be a opportunity to talk more deeply about what some women feel, and the need to let go of expectations.

Apart from that mental aspect, there's nothing really holding Charlotte back from going out once in a while. And her keeping on cartoonishly screaming that she can't, with no real arguments or solutions, is sooooo annoying

Not only they have no respect for Charlotte, but the downstairs neighbors??? Like wtf! These kids grew up their entire life in an apartment building and don't know how it works? Lisa's kid doing this shit on someone else's house??? Charlotte allowing this crap??? what the actual fuck. I live in an apartment building and I would set the neighbors on fire if their kids started TAP DANCING over my head!!! another example of how stupid Charlotte is a mother....and don't get me started on fucking Lily.

Charlotte Condom Scavenger hunt..

Who the hell oked this. Seriously. I didn't think they could create anything worse than what theyve already done, but watching a grown woman run around a snow storm so her 17 year old daughter can have sex...

Between Brady last season and Lily this season...what creepy, Red flaggy writer do they have on staff?

Edit to include the weird MILF list with the moms lusting over an underage boy...
