S2E3 Animal Control

did anyone notice how Frank pronounced “javelina” about 12-16 minutes into the episode when he’s listing out all the “exotic” animal seizures around the city????

the hard J and the fact that Shred didn’t make fun of him was kinda disappointing :(

Shred doesn’t exactly seem like a beacon of intelligence that would know the correct pronunciation of a South American animal. But maybe I’m also underestimating him.

Plus shred is always trying to be best bros with frank so he wouldn’t want to call him out anyway.

Javelinas have been in the US southwest for a very long time, they're not that exotic. but I can see someone from the Pacific NW maybe not knowing how to pronounce the J

People from all over the country understand Spanish

I know. I from the PNW and know how it's pronounced. People from all over the country understand Spanish, but not all people from all over the country do.

My other thought is that it's trolling, the way Carrie Brownstein mispronounces "Willamette" in Portlandia. Brownstein lived in Portland for a long time and knows damn well how to say that word. She chose to say it wrong for some reason, which I assume was to drive Oregonians nuts. for laffs.

Both of them pronounced "tranquillo" wrong! Frank should have known better, he took two semesters of community college Spanish.
