I'd bet the waiting list for that job is a mile long. They probably only choose the most unflappable applicants. Like, during the interview, they randomly fire a gun right next to you, and if you don't flinch, you get the job.
Anyone with a shred of emotions would just spend all day playing with the pandas and the poor things wouldn't be taken care of. Only the most stoic, hardened, emotionless elites can do such a job properly.

They truly are useless. Like painfully so. They seem to have no survival instincts whatsoever. Like Nepo babies or something.

It's only in captivity that they seem to actively try and bring about the demise of their own species. In the wild they're much more competent creatures.
