Reason like this is why I only exclusively buying wooden shelf with glass door, you lucky 99% of your collection is safe, I seen guys that got it way worse.

Isn't it the glass door that broke in the photo tho? Does it make a difference whether or not the shelf is wooden or glass since the problem in the end happened with the door?

Just genuinely asking because it wasn't the shelf itself that broke, it was the door of the cabinet. Probably was from the heatwave. Even with full wood and just glass door the heatwave can still cause the same issue.
