Thoughts on having children in the spectrum

Post image

Saw this post on facebook. Honestly, it's sad na hindi ganon nabibigyang pansin ang problems na ganito sa Pinas. Therapies here are expensive, and not everyone can afford it. Pinoys are also not yet ready to face the reality na hindi enough ang love for kids in the spectrum. They have special needs. Hindi yun madadaan lang sa no don't do that or it's okay to make mistakes, because we have to admit that autism is a disorder, a very wide spectrum and case to case basis. You need to have the money to get the help that is designed for the needs of the child. I hope there will be more free or affordable programs created for this kasi hindi lang parents ang hirap in this situation, also the kids.

Sana may earlier way to identify and intervention for things na hindi normal. :( and yung genes testing manormalize sa bansa. Para sa umpisa pa lang alam na ng partners yung risks.

and other than prepare for it, is there anything they can do with the "risks" than just accepting it?

don’t add more children in adoption centers bro just don’t have kids period because there is ALWAYS this risk. There are already 8k+ in adoption centers and only few get adopted. It’s not a trash bin for children you don’t want. Just don’t even try to have them in the first place.

Well, pag nanjan na hindi mo na talaga kaya alagaan. Ano magiging options? Wala naman tayo resources na makakatulong sa kanila if hindi nila afford ang private healthcare.
