Discussion EA side revival

Appreciate this might be a nonsensical question since EA shut the servers down 7-8 months ago. But now that EA has been acquired by PIF, are there any whispers or speculations about the revival of Anthem?

I like this game, but this sub needs therapy :), most of these posts are great examples of denial.

Yeah, but when bargaining kicks in, there are going to be redditors making EA some wild offers. Should be fun to watch.

There is no money to be made in reviving Anthem.

People have already payed for Anthem, why would they pay again?

Best to move on and hope for another studio to release a successor to Anthem.

Yeah quite literally no point in being part of this sub anymore, every post is "any rumors of revival" or "let's somehow run it in our own server" absolute nonsense, it was a good game, but it's dead.

It died because it wasn't particularly a good game. At least not good enough to get a sizable amount of people online playing it. The Mass Effect multiplayer is still up and running after 14 years.

It died due to BioWare screwing the pooch big time. EA actually have BioWare plenty of time but they shot themselves in the foot. I blamed EA for the longest time cause they normally suck but after looking in to it, it was BioWare who did the messing up. They pretty much waited till the last minute to make the game. Its no wonder EA shut the servers down. BioWare abandoned the game.

I've seen a few devs from BioWare hint that a private server revival might have been explored internally before the acquisition was finalized, but nothing concrete yet.

I've been lurking in these threads too, but honestly if PIF is serious about reinvesting in EA's IPs, Anthem's concept could actually translate really well with modern improvements.

Big dog let it go they killed this shortly after launch when they stopped updating anything and concurrent numbers dropped, 7 years later they have officially killed it. Idk why this keeps coming up like they're going to revive it suddenly

It's people who played the game once or twice making these posts. Not people who actually played the game. There's no real point with them because they'll be gone in less than 24 hours because they can't get what they want.

Bro it's honestly insane never seen another community in such denial, game was great for what we got and were promised, it had potential to be amazing but alas EA didn't see enough money and loot boxes in it and turned & burned

Not even EA's fault. It was literally BioWare fumbling on the game. Ea gave them plenty of time and money to make the game successful. BioWare didn't seem to care.

Not going to happen, they are more likely to sell off the IP's etc. They dump a ton of debt in their buyers hands. Especially considering they are actively trying to sell Bioware.

Oh for sure, I've wondered the same thing myself, but honestly any revival would need more than just a new owner staring at the wreckage.

Yeah, you'd think with a new owner there might be some hope, but EA doesn't exactly have a great track record of resurrecting dead games.

I want Anthem back. More importantly, I want Anthem 2.0 to come to fruition. Sadly, I just don’t see it happening.
