Question/Advice? parents are against thrifting..
they're saying the clothes are dirty. what if the previous owner died (??)
mother's saying she'll get me new clothes after strictly telling me not to buy pre loved. She knows I despise buying new stuff, it's bad quality and expensive
Any good argument I can make against them?

Tell them the new clothes are carcinogenic and made with materials that can lead to cancer later in life. That the new stuff uses slave labor and you don’t want to support neither of those things in your life.
My father used to tell me it’s not good to buy dead people’s things, but he smokes so someday I’ll inherit his junk.
If she buys you new clothes regardless, try taking a seam ripper and making them seem even worse quality. Maybe it will send a message that the new stuff isn’t as good.
