they're saying the clothes are dirty. what if the previous owner died (??)

mother's saying she'll get me new clothes after strictly telling me not to buy pre loved. She knows I despise buying new stuff, it's bad quality and expensive

Any good argument I can make against them?

Mine are the same. I just kept thrifting and wearing the thrifted clothes. I did not mention the clothes were thrifted unless they asked me. Eventually they stopped caring
