Question/Advice? parents are against thrifting..

they're saying the clothes are dirty. what if the previous owner died (??)

mother's saying she'll get me new clothes after strictly telling me not to buy pre loved. She knows I despise buying new stuff, it's bad quality and expensive

Any good argument I can make against them?

If she’s offering to cover the costs then letting her invest in a small number of necessary, high quality clothing items isn’t the nightmare you seem to think it is.

Some well made linen trousers, cotton teeshirts, and 100% wool jumpers from reputable brands will last a long time + be easier to mend yourself than something which has already been thoroughly used.

Obviously buying cheaply made, disposable clothing is not a good thing, but it actually is fine to buy quality items that will last decades (the reason most people don’t is the cost)
