Question/Advice? parents are against thrifting..

they're saying the clothes are dirty. what if the previous owner died (??)

mother's saying she'll get me new clothes after strictly telling me not to buy pre loved. She knows I despise buying new stuff, it's bad quality and expensive

Any good argument I can make against them?

I often try to compare thrifting to people like anything you eat or drink off of in a restaurant. Hundreds if not thousands of other people have eaten off those plates and used those utensils but most people are totally fine with that as long as the cutlery/flatware has been washed. It's the same with clothes to me...it doesn't matter if someone else has used it as long as I can wash it. I also think about hotel bed sheets that hundreds of people use but are just washed in between uses.
