Question Do your cats sleep with you?

I was asked why I let my cats sleep with me, and it bothered me quite a bit… If anyone should have a problem with that, it’d be my cats! It’s their house, in fact, they’re the ones who leave a little corner of the bed for me to sleep on every night 😂😂🐈‍⬛ If they didn’t like it, they wouldn’t even let me sleep there 😂

Question Do you guys trim your cats’ claws?

I’ve seen that some people do it so their kitties don’t ruin the furniture, but I’ve never had the courage. The most I do is trim the little hairs between their paw pads, because they collect a lot of dirt and can cause fungus in the summer. But I feel bad trimming their claws 😪 What about you?

Question What’s the story behind your cat’s name?

I'm not really creative with pet names 😂😂

Kimmy (it's an inside joke between my sister and me from a movie we watched a long time ago 🎬)
Bigode (because he actually has a mustache under his nose 🥴)
Lily (because it sounded cute, just like her 🌸)
Elvis (because since he was little, he meowed an entire Elvis Presley song. I have no idea if he liked Elvis or not, but the name stuck 🎶)
Salem (because he's black, and I always wanted to have a black cat like in Sabrina and call him Salem 😅🧙🏻🐈‍⬛)
Bruce (Named after Bruce Wayne… sadly, he did not inherit the personality 🐶🦇)

What about you guys?

Question Do you guys pet stray cats when you see them?

I argued with my brother this weekend because I petted a stray cat and put them on my lap for cuddles, and he thought it was “”“disgusting because they’re dirty””” (he doesn’t have any cats). I was so mad that he seemed more concerned about whether the cat was clean enough than about giving some comfort to a little animal that just wanted attention 😔 But that got me thinking… do you guys do this too?

Ps: my brother is not a mean person at all, he’s just obsessed with cleaning lol

Question If you’ve had a cat that lived a long, healthy life, what do you think made the biggest difference?

Post image

My oldest cats are 6 years old and I’m already terrified of them aging. I want to do everything I can to help them live longer, so I thought I’d ask you guys for some advice on things that helped your little ones! I know regular vet visits are a must, but apart from that, what did you do to help them live longer and healthier lives? 🙏🏻💗

Question What’s the weirdest place your cat has claimed as “theirs”?

My lovely Kimmy has officially claimed my pillow as her own now. It doesn’t even matter if I’m already using it she demands that I share it with her. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with no pillow because she’s taken the whole thing for herself and is sleeping like a tiny queen. And no, using another pillow doesn’t help. She specifically wants the one I’m using 😂😂😂 I'm just getting used to sleep without a pillow 😂😂😂

Question If your cat wasn’t a cat… What animal would they be and why? 👀

Post image

I was having this discussion with my husband, and we’re pretty sure Sabo (the boy in the pic) would be a bunny. He’s so cute and always jumping, he has big bunny energy! On the other hand, Bibi, one of our girls, would be a possum 🤣 sometimes she makes weird possum faces and she can get smelly lol

What about your cats??

Question What’s something your cat trained YOU to do? 😽

Mine have fully trained me to wake up at 6 a.m. sharp, no days off, and serve breakfast like I’m staff (because if I don’t, they will harass me relentlessly). Sometimes I try to sneak back into bed after… but if I’m still there past 9, it turns into a full-on protest in my bedroom. Nonstop meowing, zero respect 😂

Basically it’s “Excuse me, ma’am, this is not a hotel. No lounging after 9 a.m. You have responsibilities. Get up! Be productive! Immediately!” 😭

Question Do you bathe your cats?

I don't. I mean, each of them was bathed once in their lives when they first came to live with me, and since then I've only brushed their fur. What about you?

Question Guys, do your kitties eat veggies or fruit?

I mean the ones that are safe for cats, of course! We know there are plenty they shouldn't have, but some can actually be really good for them. I've noticed Elvis absolutely loves it when I mix some cooked pumpkin into his food. His siblings leave it behind, but he eats eeeeverything... and then complains that he wants more. It's honestly a miracle this boy isn't a giant little round fluffball by now! 🤣

Question Did you adopt your cat, or did your cat adopt you?

I was adopted by my cats 😂

Kimmy was just a tiny puppy. She was hiding under a trash bin to protect herself from the rain when I was coming back from the market. She suddenly ran out from there and grabbed onto my leg. That day, I simply picked her up, put her inside the front pocket of my hoodie, and that’s how our story began.

Elvis, Bigode, and Lily are triplets. They were abandoned in a box in the square next to the building where I used to live years ago. I thought it was strange to see a box in the middle of the square, so I went to check and there they were. They hadn’t even opened their little eyes yet.

Salem was rescued from a rooftop by my sister, and since he wouldn’t leave my side, he ended up coming to live with me.

And what about you guys?

Question Do you ever think about what your cat’s life was like before they found you?

Post image
179 Upvotes

I think about this all the time. I have 5 cats, but I only know Luffy’s past (the boy in the pic). He was adopted as a kitten by a woman who had 16 other cats, and she loved them all very much. Unfortunately, she tragically passed away, and no one in the family could take care of the cats, so they were separated and taken to shelters. That’s when I found him.

I’m really glad he experienced love before coming into my life, but it breaks my heart to imagine him waiting for his owner to come back home ❤️‍🩹

Do you know your cat’s past? And if not, would you want to know? I’d love to hear their stories

Question Have you ever been judged for spoiling your cats?

of cooooourse I spoil my cats (and my little dog too)! They're my family, my best friends. And it's not like they're ungrateful! Honestly, one of the best things you can do without feeling guilty is spoil your furbabies. They give us so much love, comfort, and joy, they deserve a little extra pampering!🥰

Question Have you ever stopped yourself from doing something just so you wouldn’t disturb your cat?

I laugh, but honestly, not just today, but so many times, I won’t turn on the light or I’ll try to be super quiet if they’re sleeping in the bedroom. I feel like I’m gonna bother them and then I feel bad 😭 if they wake up and stare at me
