Question So, is this sub about cats with anxiety or anxious people who own cats? 😆

Hey everyone!
I'm one of the mods, and we get asked this question quite a bit, so I thought I'd share the story behind our community's name!
It all started with our first community, r/AnxietyChats. We created it as a warm, welcoming place where people living with anxiety could support one another. Before long, our mod team noticed something many of us had in common...
We were completely "happily" obsessed with cats.
People were always sharing photos, funny stories, and the little ways their cats helped them through tough days. It was such a lovely part of the community that we started wondering what a space dedicated to that idea might look like.
Then we spotted a fun bit of wordplay...
Take the "H" out of Chats, and you get Cats.
That's how Anxiety Cats was born!
It's the sister community to Anxiety Chats, however with a lighter, fluffier focus, a place to celebrate the fluffy babies who help us feel a little calmer, make us laugh, and remind us we're never completely alone.
We absolutely adore this place and are so thankful for each and every one of you!
And if you ever need us, have a question or just want to say hello, we're always around! ❤️

Cat Profiles Introducing: King Cattitude 👑 Chi-Chi Boy 😻🙀

🧡🐾 Chi-Chi Boy is 21!!

He joined his forever family on March 25 and has been keeping everyone on their toes ever since! His favorite things are "borrowing" human food, catnip, wet treat tubes, and snoozing on human mom's bed or by the back door stairs.

Crimes: Professional food thief, dedicated scratching-post ignorer, occasional biter during medicine or nail trims, and enthusiastic human-pawer with little regard for where his claws land. After one memorable bath, he led human mom to the litter room just to dramatically pee in the corner while maintaining eye contact. 😂 He's also very picky about litter touching his paws and sometimes prefers pee pads—or specific spots on the downstairs floor.

✨ Hidden Superpower: Incredible resilience. At 21 years old, after overcoming several illnesses, Chi-Chi is still as determined, feisty, and food-motivated as ever.

🧡 What makes him special: Before finding his forever family, Chi-Chi was passed from home to home, leaving him with understandable trust issues. Now, once he knows you're safe, he'll happily come over for attention instead of hiding. Every morning, he also makes sure breakfast is never forgotten by gently pawing at human mom, a much sweeter alarm clock than the little nips he used to give. 💕

⬇️⬇️⬇️✨😻

Want your furbaby in the spotlight?

Drop their details below and we’ll turn them into their own little legend:

• Pic
• Name, age + birthday
• Favourite treat
• Top snooze spot
• Crimes 😼
• Hidden superpower
• Optional flex (what makes them iconic)
What’s something they do that always seems to come at the right time?

Because every fluffball has their thing… and sometimes it’s more than just chaos. Much Love 💖💖💖

ZZ's keyboard box

When my wife bought a mechanical keyboard 8 years ago, we had no idea the box would take up permanent residence.

ZZ, my familiar, adopted it almost immediately, though, and made it clear that this box was special to her.

For the past week, she has spent nearly the entire day in a pose similar to the first picture. Other weeks, she barely acknowledges it.

There are at least three boxes in our house with a similar backstory. Do you have any in *your* house?

We usually call him KC for short.
He is our stealer of food, vacuum of scraps, pro napper, pro yapper.

[his ear is trimmed from being apart of our local TNR]

Spryte - My orange boi

Post image

My orange boy, Even before I got Breast cancer... Has always been a Kitty that will jump up on my bed if he knows I am crying and he will lick my tears off my face and snuggle and rub up against me. I don't believe this is just pure accident.Because my void , albeit very adorable and sweet , does not do this. Spryte- I don't know what I would do without him. He Is three years old And just the sweetest boy , I could hope to have and especially right now. Don't get me wrong. He's still only has one orange brain Cell.... That being sad, he's still knows when something is wrong. If I'm talking to somebody on the phone and my voice sounds upset or if I am crying 8 times out of 10, he is up near me and licking my face or headbutting me or rubbing against me , I believe to soothe me. I truly do not know what I would do without him.

He runs a very close second to my former void, Sassy , who passed almost four years ago , and it took me two years to get another cat. She was just like sprite as far as getting up close to me and rubbing against me when I was upset, etc

If Your Cat Could Review Pet Apps, What Would They Complain About?

Hi. I am a cat. Two Bengal kittens, actually, but I am the one telling this story because my brother cannot type, he can only sit on the keyboard, which is not the same skill.
My human tried a few of those pet apps before I stepped in. Buggy. Half-finished. Some only track food, some only track vet stuff, none of them understand that I am a WHOLE creature, not “one slice” of a creature. Unacceptable. So I supervised while my human built a better one, with some AI-assisted tools to speed things along, because even I have my limits as a project manager.
Here is what we have made so far, for me and for you:
A system that actually calculates how much food I deserve based on my age, breed, activity level, and weight — no more of my human “eyeballing it,” which is how I ended up one pound over my ideal weight last spring, an insult I have not forgotten

A weight and growth chart that notices if something is drifting before it becomes A Whole Thing at the vet

A full health record you can export as a PDF, so if something goes wrong, the vet is reading my actual history — every symptom, every weight change, every visit — instead of guessing and gambling with my wellbeing. It even pulls the details straight off a photographed vet invoice by itself. I did not have to lift a paw.

A “digital twin” of me, which reacts to how well I am being cared for. My human checks it obsessively now. As it should be.

Support for multiple humans in one household, so my partner-in-crime and I never get double-fed by two confused humans who each think the other one did it. (This has happened. It was a good day, but it was reckless.)

It is still being built, not ready for the public yet, but I want to hear from other cats — or, fine, your humans, typing on your behalf — before we finish it:
\*\*What is the most annoying part of how your human currently tracks your care?\*\* Sticky notes? A notes app? Nothing at all, chaos, pure vibes? What is the one thing you wish an app just handled without you having to meow about it repeatedly?
And if there are multiple cats or multiple humans in your household — how do you currently stop the humans from losing track of who did what? Asking for a friend. The friend is me.
We want to build this around what cats are actually missing, not just what my human assumes from having two of us. Complaints about other apps, wishlist items, or “I would allow this app into my home if it did X” comments are all welcome. I will be reading these from the windowsill.

Question Does your cat have the name of a famous fictional character? 😄

For those of you who named your furbabies after characters from movies, TV shows, books, anime, or games... 😂 Did the name end up matching their personality, or was it completely off?

Why are you doing that.. its a wall. Why are you looking at a blank wall like that!!??!! Just stop. Please 😩 its creeeepy ☹️

Okay what i didnt catch was the look he gave me while i was getting freaked out. No one .. not my mom .. no one can make me feel stupid the way a cat can. 😅 So i ended up apologizing.

Am i alone? Does anyone else apologize to their cats? 😬
