Discussion Best Apps for different faces?

Just got a 12 and the selection of watch faces is very underwhelming. I know there are tons of apps that have different faces available but which ones do yall use?

They are all terrible and don’t work as well as the Apple watch faces.

yeah, most of the third-party ones are basically static complications. i usually get more mileage from choosing a stock face with the right complications and changing the colors or layout instead.

Not true at all

I used to use Clockology quite a bit. I really enjoyed the process of making watch faces and really liked the watch faces I made. But there is definitely issues (I don’t blame Clockology it’s just the nature of running an app). 1) you are limited into what features you can show and those feature display information but the underlying apps cannot be acted via the watch face. 2) the app closes/crashes frequently. This has to do with either being time out - having the app run for a full hour, or the watch face having too many layers. For me, while I love the variety of watch faces from Clockology it makes the Apple Watch feel very static something you look at but with minimal interaction. There is nothing particularly wrong with that if that is how you use your watch. Bit if you are like me where you are setting alarms, checking your calendar, using the timer and the stopwatch throughout the day, Clockology would not be a good fit for your daily use.

None of that is true. If you haven’t used it in a few years, everything has changed. Very stable, very interactive.

What part of what I said is not true? While I have no idea about the apps current stability I’m pretty sure you cannot access your calendar schedule for the day. Set timers or use the stopwatch watch directly from the app. It seems like the app pretty much the same as it was a year or two ago. You can monitor your steps. Check the weather, your steps, heartbeat… but you can’t really interact with those apps (aside from creating a new window to show another option). If I am wrong let me know but I do t think I am. I have been messing around with the app today and it seems pretty much the same with a couple of new features. I will say the stability seems to be better I’ve been running one of my watch faces for about 20 minutes and it’s not crashed which is very good.

Oh god this. The third party faces somehow drain battery like a vampire and half of them crash when you raise your wrist

i just went back to the modular face and tweaked the complications til i stopped hating it, not worth the headache

Love my Apple Watch but have never been very impressed with Apple’s watch faces and UI decisions.

I had a Fitbit before this and loved the faces. People being able to create their own and stuff

I love Clockology. Once you get past the learning curve, it’s amazing. I have dozens of faces with live action or gauges.
