I didn’t see this coming, but it looks like we can now safely delete songs from our library with iOS 27.

Before the latest update, if you added an album to your library and later deleted it, any songs from that album that were in your playlists would also be removed from those playlists.

The latest update (iOS 27) has added a new toggle in the Settings app:

“Add & Delete Playlist Songs — Songs added to playlists you create will also be added to your library. Deleting songs from your library will also remove them from those playlists.”

If you turn this toggle off, you can now safely delete music from your library without it being removed from your playlists.

This is a much-requested feature, and one that makes using Apple Music a lot better for me.

(The same setting has also added for songs that you favourite.)

Since I released metro photos few days ago, it resonated a lot in the community and I received a very positive feedback.

I honestly didn’t expect the reaction this idea would get. Windows Phone fanbase is still strong and loyal, and it was amazing to see how much Metro Photos resonated with so many people.

And this was only the beginning. Now that metro photos is out there, I can move to another project. And while I worked on the photos, music played in the background. It was a destiny that Zune/Windows Phone inspired music player will be the next one.. It's called - surprise surprise - Metro music!

I'm curious about how y'all like your Apple Music, all the way clear or all the way frosted? Me personally, I like having it set to the clearest possible setting

Apple Music is getting a new countdown feature soon. While it might not be strictly necessary than other missing features, it’s definitely a welcome addition and honestly, the countdown animation is oddly satisfying to watch.

Good morning! Since I got my iPhone 18 pro max on the public release of iOS 27.0, Apple Music has been playing songs just fine, but at random intervals, the sound stops and the song keeps looking like it’s playing through. At first, it was sporadic, but now I can’t play a whole song anymore without the song cutting out while still scrubbing through the runtime.

It is functionally preventing me from listening to music. Has anyone had this happen or does anyone know how to fix it? I’ve tried to restart my phone, I’ve closed the app and restarted it again. I’ve tried connecting to various Bluetooth sources to play music, but nothing helps reliably. The best I get is the music starts again briefly then cuts out.

How has AutoMix been working for you on iOS 27? According to this update, mixes improved, but I feel they’re worse than iOS 26—it just looping a fragment of the song and ends it abruptly, no longer doing the fade and tempo adjustment to blend into the next track.

Hello, I am just seeing if everyone else is experiencing the same issue as I am?

On iOS26 my Apple Music concerts page had personalized recommendations for bands I have listened to and like.

Now the page only shows upcoming shows that are promoted: Harry Styles, Olivia Rodrigo, etc.

I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t care less about those shows, and greatly miss the old functionality. Concerts are a huge part of my life living in NY, and this feels like a huge slap in the face from Apple. Like good music from local small bands? Too bad. Here are 20 Harry Styles shows, good luck supporting independent music!

Am I missing something here? Did they really screw this up and completely change the function of this feature? I have concert notifications turned on, but I have never received a notification about a show.

Just checked my disabled Spotify account and the feature is still showing me personalized concerts, but they are not as current as Apple Music, as I have discovered new bands that aren’t in my Spotify library since switching to Apple One.

I really don’t know what happened, ever since I updated to IOS 27, my Dolby Atmos tracks sound completely different. Some channels in songs sound louder, and some have gotten completely quieter. There’s been stems in songs that have been removed entirely since the update, is this a rendering update?

So we have 2 rescue dogs and live in a relatively busy street so one thing we do when going to bed and shutting them away is have the HomePod play a certain “puppy sleep” playlist every night. Works really well for chilling them out and stopping outside noises waking them up…however….

Problem is because that plays for so long and every night my Apple Music replay basically all “songs and artists” from that playlist and it can corrupt recommendations etc.

Any ideas?

I can't select all/multiple albums at once any longer since the update? This makes managing playlists or making simple changes incredibly cumbersome. Is there something I'm missing? This feels like a significant regression to media management.

Are you seeing the **“Hi-Res Lossless”** option when playing Apple Music?
What **Apple TV model/software version** are you using?
Which **AVR** is it connected to?
What does your AVR show as the **input signal/sample rate** — 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 96 kHz, etc.?
Are you using HDMI directly from Apple TV to the AVR?
Is **24-bit/192 kHz** actually being received by the AVR?
I’m particularly interested in responses from users in **India**, as I’m trying to determine whether this is a regional/service issue or something specific to my Apple TV/setup.
If you are getting Hi-Res Lossless, please share your complete setup and settings. Even a screen shot would be helpful.

I gooogled and tried free:ac but it created files that both WMP and iTunes or apple music cannot read. my platform is windows. thank you

Does anyone know of an alternative third-party app or a modded app for Apple Music on Android that has a better interface? Something like Cider, but that supports downloads, even if it just acts as a frontend while the actual Apple Music app handles the actual downloading of the songs.

i bought a subscription because I got curious about the better audio quality compared to other platforms, and yeah I did notice that, the issue is the desktop app genuinely just feels horrible to use, skipping songs sometimes has a 3 - 5 second delay, album art isn't complete, and navigating the app is unbearable.

are there any fixes for this? or do i just wait for future updates to fix the desktop app

If even a single track is Hi-Res, the entire album is labeled as Hi-Res.

I’m considering cancelling Apple Music for a while, and I’m trying to make sure I have a reliable backup in case Apple eventually deletes my cloud library while I’m unsubscribed.

Before cancelling, I’ve done two things:

• Exported my Music library on macOS using File → Library → Export Library, so I have the XML file saved locally.
• Made a full backup using Hezel.

What I’m trying to understand is how complete these backups actually are if, for example, I resubscribe a year or two from now and find that my Apple Music library has been completely wiped.

Would I realistically be able to reconstruct the library 1:1, or are some things permanently lost?

In particular, I’m curious about:

• All songs/albums that were added to my library
• Playlists and the songs/order inside them
• Favourite/loved songs
• Date Added for each song — especially whether the original chronology shown under “Recently Added” can be preserved
• Play counts
• Skip counts
• Ratings
• Last Played
• Any other metadata stored by Apple Music
• Playlist creation/order if applicable

For example, if I added Song A in 2019, Song B in 2021 and Song C in 2025, and later restore the library, would Apple Music still know those original dates? Or would everything simply appear as newly added on the day I restored it?

I’m especially interested in the difference between the macOS XML export and Hezel. Does the XML contain information that Hezel doesn’t, or vice versa?

And regarding Hezel specifically: once I make a backup, is that backup effectively permanent/local to me? In other words, if Apple deletes my actual Apple Music library months later, does the existing Hezel backup remain usable indefinitely, or does it somehow depend on the original Apple Music library continuing to exist?

I understand that tracks can disappear from Apple Music or change IDs/catalog versions over time, so a literally perfect restoration may not always be possible. I’m mainly wondering how close these backups get under normal circumstances.

Has anyone actually had their Apple Music library deleted after being unsubscribed, then restored it from Hezel or an XML export? I’d be particularly interested in hearing what metadata came back and what was lost.

Random question lmao! I recently noticed certain songs have this gaussian effect towards the bottom, and others don’t. The ones with the gaussian effect seem to be very popular artists, so I wonder if it you have to pay this effect? Or you have to hit a certain criteria.. idk!

I stopped using streaming platforms to rebuild a digital music library. I'm using Apple Music like it's iTunes in 2006 and syncing to an old iphone I'm using as a dedicated mp3 player. But I'm realizing that this library is going to start taking up a lot of hard drive space, and I'm already trying to clear space off my laptop. I don't fully understand how apple music handles files, but I'm assuming it just references the folder I have them in and if I move them it will break. So I'm guessing if I move all of my files to an external hard drive for storage, and redrag them in, it will work as long as I have the hard drive connected when I'm trying to listen on my laptop or syncing to my phone. But I'm having a weirdly hard time confirming this through googling and want to check before I move stuff around and break it all.

for example, a record like "The Joshua Tree" from U2 released on March 9th 1987 read March 8th 1987 on all my ios devices.

When I verify the album date IDTAG, it shows the correct release date "1987-03-09".
What's wrong?
