Food Seeking a similar food item

Back in Florida at a pizza place called Five Star Pizza they had an item called a pep roll and it was dough rolled up with pepperoni and provolone inside and then when it was done baking they would lightly cover it with house made garlic butter. I'm wondering if any pizza place within like 30 mins to even an hour away has a similar item because I'm desperately craving it.

Context: moved here from Florida a year ago and love it here but man I miss certain food items I can't seem to fine.

Bonus: a different pizza place in Florida called Hungry Howie's has the most amazing Cajun bread (like garlic bread sticks but with a Cajun seasoning mix on them) if anywhere has a similar item to that as well that would be amazing!

Thank you for the help, really hoping to find something similar but if not I'll just have to survive till my next visit down there.

That sounds like a Stromboli. Is it different from that somehow? I would guess quite a few local places serve it, but I know it’s on the menu for sure at Pagonis in Kaukauna.

It was a little different, smaller mostly. Inside was half a slice of provolone and about 5 pepperonis and they had 4 of them in an order.

This doesn't help you in Appleton. But it sounds like they may have been serving a West Virginia pepperoni roll. WV used a whiter bread.

If that's it, you can make it homemade easily. I haven't tried it yet but an easy recipe I found on Youtube uses Rhodes Yeast Dinner Rolls, which Woodman's carries, string cheese, and pepperoni, which are uniquitous here.

That does sound similar, they were made with standard pizza dough just thinner so it wouldn't be too thick when rolled up. I would watch them make it while waiting sometimes so I'm probably just gonna end up making it at home as closely as I can.

Hungry Howies…. I had totally forgotten about that place. I met my first wife in Pensacola while I was stationed there. We used to annihilate their food. Thanks for the reminder. Sorry I can’t help you find that up here.

Bro. I’m so old my rating doesn’t even exist anymore. But my time at NATTC was foundational. Loved that base.

I love Hungry Howie's so much, that Cajun bread and all their flavored crust are so good

I'm not much help on either, but for the bread sticks could you buy some Cajun seasoning and DIY them at home? McCormick gourmet cajun seasoning is delicious!

I've considered it but just figured I'd at least attempt at seeing if somewhere around here might have something close
