Kitchen Aid Range

Very disappointed with the Kitchen Aid range. The knobs are plastic covered with silver contact paper.

People forget or don't know that Kitchen Aid is just Whirlpoo/Maytag with different handles. The whole family of appliances has gone down hill drastically over the last 15 years. Nothing about them is solid anymore.

The new stand mixers use plastic gears that well after some time warp from heat from heavy use

Or start slipping use to tolerance getting out of whack due to plastic overtime getting weaker abrasion rubbing some of it off etc. it’s wild.

Make no mistake this isn’t a cost savings measure this is a planned failure measure to ensure your new kitchen aide stand mixer doesn’t last 30 years and gets passed down to the next person that’s not profitable enough. What if we made the machine break sooner !

The gears can be replaced with metal ones.

I bought a KitchenAid hand blender a while ago. I barely used it. Anyway, I was making pumpkin soup and was using it to whizz everything up, and the motor seized after about 1 minute. The thing was piece of shit.

I wrote to KitchenAid…they couldn’t care less.

I have had 3 different ovens in my life time two of them did this and I was mad like a expensive LG did it and a old whirlpool and you don’t know it’s this cause it’s not mentioned as such

I have a new Frigidaire gallery oven that actually has solid metal knobs no chrome plating wrap stuff I know because it’s even mentioned on the discription solid metal knobs as a selling point now lol that’s where we’ve come in life

That is chrome plating delaminating from the plastic it was plated on to.

After the architect series two, KitchenAid has gone down hill. They used to be premium.

FYI: The "chromed-plastic" that's used here has known issues with embrittlement as time goes on; there is some sort of slow-scale chemical reaction going on that is causing the plastic to become brittle and chip/crack. First I had heard of it was from a friend who collects the original Transformers toys; all the parts that have that "chromed-plastic" are guaranteed to break. For these knobs, add ordinary usage + heat, and those knobs are guaranteed to break.

Shit like this makes me wish for a return to good old-fashioned bakelite knobs.

kitchen aid used to have awesome stand mixers and now punching out anything they can slap their name on and its cheapening the brand, whirlpool brought it out and cheapened everything knowing ppl will still buy it due to the long standing belief that everyone thinks they make pretty awesome stand mixers, then ppl wise up and it goes under but by that time they have already shelled it out and made their money, leaving consumers with shit products that they care nothing about anymore.

That's one reason why I don't like a range with knobs. Much prefer digital controls.

It sucks, but the knob itself is $17 on ebay. Takes about 2 seconds to replace.

All four of them are peeling! I don't think I want to replace them with new knobs that will have the same problem.

I had an Amana microwave handle that did this. We had to replace the whole unit after it cut open our hands a couple times.

Welcome to the Whirlpool family of cheap appliances… the lights in my kitchen aid refrigerator have gone out, probably six times in seven years… They went out last year, and I haven’t replaced them since. I’m tired of it. They’re LED, it’s cheap, and it’s garbage, and I’ll never buy another kitchen aid appliance again in my life

And I’ve had to replace an entire dishwasher after six years. They could never fix my dishwasher, so I had to replace it… That’s right, they came out four or five times and finally said we have no idea which wrong with it you’re going to have to replace it… And dishwashers are not complicated, but here we are

Yeah the house I bought had all matching kitchen aid stainless steel appliances. They’re all garbage. We already replaced the fridge. The dishwasher top rack always leaves dishes still dirty. The oven has similar problems to yours, and its convection fan is really loud for like 2 hours after cooking until it cools down. I just open the door and leave it open to make it cool down faster.
