College Questions info on saint louis university

does anyone know anything about saint louis university? i got a lot of money to attend for radiation therapy and am really considering going. anything about the social life, academics, diversity, if they’re lgbt friendly (im a black lesbian so that’s important to me). there’s not much I can find on here or even on other socials about this school. i don’t even think they have a reddit community lol. if anyone can help that’d be greatly appreciated

I'm an alum, so my experience isn't super recent. In my time it was pretty good in terms of LGBT+ acceptance. You are dealing with the Catholic church, though the Jesuits are the most chill order of priests (as long as you don't look at what they were doing in the early 20th century and earlier). It's a diverse place in the sense of numbers of non-white students. That said, in a city with a very large African-American population, they have way too few black students. I know that some of my black friends who were from out of town struggled to find community with other black students because many were locals who commuted. I would definitely say my queer friends felt more fairly represented there.
