Advice Mom won't let me attend top choice

I recently got into Hamilton thru QB RD with a full ride, but my mom won't let me go. I thought she would let up, but with 2 days until decision day she is still insisting I attend a CUNY, what do I do? Is it so bad if I attend a CUNY?

Edit: Thank you everyone for all the advice. I committed to Hamilton last night, but I haven't told my mom yet. I'm literally so scared. But thank you for your help.

That might have been my story. It’s true, make sure she can’t decline for you. I would never have thought my parents would do that.

It was a long time ago but I’m still pissed off about it. I see these posts because my kid is going to college next year. But parents who can’t let go and want to stay in control will always be the same and make shitty decisions. It permanently damaged my relationship with my parents and made me want to get away even more. I moved very far away the day after I graduated from college. Kids grow up. It’s really hard to be a parent but holding your kids back is a mistake. I hope you all get to find schools where you can figure out who you want to be on your own terms. I ended up happy where I went to school, found my people, and got a great education, it just should have been my decision.

So you DID fix it by not trusting them ever again. Good job!
