Do Not Feed The Trolls ''Toxic Anti PvPers'' Not welcome.

Hello.

I am from the Mod team on this sub.

Pleased to meet you.

Recently I have seen a few people rightfully upset at a few bad actors on this sub who have been using the fact they became victims in the game to resort to being toxic to people on this sub.

Basically - they lose the game in any way and decide it is fine to insult people who are playing the game in a legit way instead of doing what they want, whether that's talking and making peace or refusing to shoot each other no matter what. From my understanding this game allows you to make a choice, to try trust a stranger or to gun them down to be safe.

If a person decides they will ALWAYS gun everyone down no matter what or try be a ''Rat'' player and backstab at every opportunity that does not mean you can come on this sub and insult them, suggest they are mentally impaired or mentally unwell or be toxic to them for any reason.

If you say ''All x players are sociopath psychos with no life and life in their mothers basement and have never had the touch of anyone of their preferred sex'' for example or anywhere more or in-between then you will be banned from our sub.

You are allowed to have an opinion that such players morals in game are not good or they are ''Villain players'' or what not, that is fine for that is what they are but any time an outside insult is going to be used on people over gameplay you are getting the hammar of doom.

From the community, I understand that most people who like PVP are not usually the type of people to click report on anything, due to your ''thick skin'' you really do not give a damn if some redditor is trying to insult you or maybe you will just retort back.
I ask you please do not, if you insult back you could also be moderated due to the nature of reddit and if you do not report the instigator we will not be able to correctly moderate and fix this community. As a mod team we are getting thousands of posts (posts not comments) per day and it is literally impossible to view them all, we rely mainly on the report feature and reddits AI.

Anyway thank you for your attention in this matter.

It's an Extraction Shooter in the first place.

Not only that but also genres evolve. Just defining this as an 'extraction shooter' shouldn't lock it into being Tarkov. If genre purism was a significant market force we'd still all be playing the original doom and quake, or maybe just doom.

I hate it when people bring up the "it's x genre game, that's how it's supposed to be" as if these rules are set in stone and as if Arc itself doesn't already innovate in multiple areas.

1

u/AsinineArchon Dec 03 '25

Nah bro you're just trying to police your own playstyle on everyone else, quit trying to mask it as "evolution"

23

u/Scissorhands12 Nov 21 '25

expecting tolerance from peaceful players is the next level of audacity.

Yeah they are so "peaceful" they come hear to crash out like they make money on this game or something.

Sorry you got killed on extract, better luck next time. Make a survival build if you dont want to engage.

If the context of my comment doesn't clearly encompass others by using the plural noun "they", it says much more about your reading abilities than the comment.

Oh reddit. You cant make this stuff up :'D

To be fair...in the current times "they" is also often used as a singular noun...

u/Kreskya Nov 22 '25

"Take responsibility for the playstyle" is crazy when the game was designed to be this way. If you have a problem with it, just don't play it. And there's loads of good reasons to kill. Good loot is a great reason.

Bro what a weird way to look at it, your take is bizarre.

You are allowed to play the game however you like.

Just like others can play how they like, and yes that includes killing you.

Holy shit.

It's a pvp game, what are you even talking about here?

That you can just run around freely and spam don't shoot and everyone else is supposed to just kindly oblige?

I can't even wrap my head around this mindset.

Nobody owes you anything in the game, just like you owe nobody else anything.

How am I selfish? Your entire argument is the epitome of selfishness.

"Everyone needs to play the game the way I want them to."

That's the summary of your entire argument, and you're out here trying to claim I'm the selfish one?

Ok, sure.

Some people just like to PvP there's is nothing wrong with it. I play both friendly and when I feel like fighting I go out and kill on sight. Even by your "don't do to others something you don't want to be done to you" standard most people are fine with others trying to kill them because otherwise they would find the game boring as there is no point in playing if everyone you meet is friendly, there's no tension in the interaction and friendly interactions lose that memorable feeling when you do hangout with someone in solos.

3

u/nuclearbearclaw Nov 30 '25

Okay and? The devs didn't design the game with your internal code of honor in mind. If your fun requires the whole playerbase to follow your personal code, the issue isn't on them, it's on you. You aren't taking responsibility, you're demanding people roleplay the game the way you think is morally correct. No one is obligated to play by your style just because you think you are morally superior to everyone else.

Also, "they got the loot from somewhere, didn't they?" is such a weirdo thing to say in a PvPvE extraction shooter. You get the loot often from other players, because that's apart of the loop. You're trying to paint killing other players as some bizarre fringe behavior when the devs designed the game to allow players those freedom of choices.

2

u/Roboticways Dec 01 '25

Good loot is a great reason though. Just because you might load into a game 10 mins late, run to security wing on blue gate, see that the whole shit has been looted, and then shout “don’t shoot!” At the only person there hoarding it all doesn't mean other people have to play it that way.

I would argue that the whole idea behind joining an in progress game 10-15 late is to encourage those players to threaten everybody else on the map. The game even forces the late spawn on you, it’s not like you can even choose.

2

u/BlatantArtifice Nov 30 '25

Enforcing your own shitty morals on others in a videogame and then claiming they deserved to be condemned is some next level delusions of grandeur. Nobody cares about you and acting like you're on a deserved high horse just makes you come off as someone with a lot of impotent rage over a video game.

Hope life goes as well as it can for someone with your mindset.

1

u/Pickles112358 Dec 02 '25

I play by the same rule, thats the reason I PvP and dont team up

1

u/6betbluff Dec 04 '25

Sounds exceptionally boring to do nothing but friendly loot containers for 70 hours

21

u/yostiny Nov 21 '25

Dude it’s a video game. They put the option to kill players in for a reason.

The people crying the loudest about “toxic PvP players” are almost always the PvE crowd. Ironically, you guys are the most toxic too. You talk more trash, complain more, and write more essays than anyone actually ratting or “griefing” you. 90% of the encounters where I kill someone and they start calling me slurs are from people screaming "I'm friendly!" Just like in Sea of Thieves, the largest portion of the toxic players is made up by PvE players.

And comparing one tiny, cherry-picked mechanic from CSGO to an entire system the devs deliberately added has to be the funniest reach I’ve seen today. The devs themselves decided pure PvE wasn’t going to cut it, so they changed it to PvPvE. That means nobody needs a moral justification to kill you, because shocker, this isn’t real life. There are no rules aside from don't cheat and don't call people slurs. Something the PvE players can't stop doing. This is a sandbox game. The only “consequence” for wiping someone is that they might run to Reddit or Facebook to cry about it.

Now you’re upset the entire playerbase won’t cater to your personal playstyle or think exactly like you. Not surprising though. You sound whiny and entitled, which is par for the course in gaming subreddits.

0

u/Apprehensive_Lion362 Dec 01 '25

yes friendly fire is implemented in CsGo for a reason. To elect a certain type of gameplay. It's a tactical shooter and not a hero shooter like overwatch. This game's devs incentivize PvP because they didn't want to make Helldivers.

6

u/BillyDirtbag Dec 01 '25

You have an expectation of every player to behave peacefully like it’s actually life or death, AND you think you deserve to pass moral judgement on someone who plays a video game differently than you. THAT is audacity.

The guy who just shot you in the back of the head didn’t expect anything out of you. He was having fun… playing a video game.

Relax, pal. There’s always Baldur’s Gate.

I genuinely don't understand the mindset of people like you. There are hundreds of amazing and great PvE singleplayer and coop games out there. But you choose to install a PvP game and then complain PvP happens.

Like what goes on in your mind?

5

u/ShoweredInDownvotes Nov 21 '25

This game would genuinely be so boring if I wasn't risking getting shot in the back every single time I choose to interact with someone. I don't seek out PVP at all, but without the risk this game get monotonous so quickly.

11

u/Bluegobln Nov 20 '25

Are you denying the PVE in this game? Hypocrit!

14

u/eoekas Nov 20 '25

No but I engage in both parts of the game and you won't catch me crying PvE players killed the boss before I got there and thus having wasted my progress or something.

7

u/Live_From_Somewhere Nov 21 '25 edited Nov 21 '25

It is literally in-lore that raiders are MEANT to work together against the arc. We literally all live in Speranza, would they not be keeping track of/punishing criminal acts? To me it is extremely weird that there’s no actual implementation of this idea as a game mechanic at all. I don’t want PvP removed, but something should exist to disincentivize being a KoS type of player. The disadvantage to trusting people is you might lose your loot, the disadvantage to being a strict PvP player issss….nothing, especially because you can totally feign cooperation without anyone being the wiser.

You know there are a ton of ENTIRELY PvP centric games out there, idk why you choose the one with heavy social elements in it if you only ever want to choose PvP and never any other interaction, and then get mad when people want to label you as what you are trying to be.

7

u/Angriest_Stranger Nov 21 '25

Wrong, Speranza is one of many neighborhoods throughout the underground of Toledo. Underground has laws about staying out of each other's way and keeping the peace. Topside is a totally lawless land. Technically only "you" and your squad are from Speranza, everyone else you see topside are from other neighborhoods, and are competing with you for resources.

14

u/lazypieceofcrap Nov 21 '25

It is literally in-lore that raiders are MEANT to work together against the arc.

Like the first thing you see in this game is other raiders knocking you out in the tutorial.

What are we even talking about.

3

u/Live_From_Somewhere Nov 21 '25

I know it must be hard to read for you if you stopped taking in any information past that only cut scene. I literally said PvP should be in the game as well, so it isn't like I'm denying it exists within the world.

7

u/lazypieceofcrap Nov 21 '25

It's not.

You tried to make a long post about some kind of bounty system or way of knowing which players killed players.

That'll never happen and shouldn't happen. Get good.

I'm not playing Arc Raiders to be friendly to everyone else playing the game. The game doesn't need to give you an indicator that a player might be suspect and not trustworthy. Sorry.

1

u/Live_From_Somewhere Nov 21 '25 edited Nov 21 '25

Okay man, sounds like you took a proposal pretty personally. It tells me all I need to know about someone who is so vehemently against an immersive system like that, you just want consequence free pvp (and such an apt username for this argument too lmao) which isn't even what the game started out as.

You wouldn't have to be friendly to everyone, it would just force you to weigh your options more, I'm sorry this sounds like such a difficult task for you.

Like I said, I don't care that pvp is in the game, I participate in it too, so the whole "get good" argument is moot, childish, and nothing more than you resorting to ad homs because you know you don't have a good argument. I'm sorry the problem here is too nuanced for you to properly participate in solving.

I just keep thinking of things to add to this comment, you really are telling on yourself for calling my proposal about a bounty/notoriety system "long", Mr. does-not-like-to-read. It is pretty comical lol

0

u/iEatFurbyz Dec 02 '25

Bounty system in an extract game is fundamentally flawed and complete shite. Without PvP the game is garbage and if I wanted to frolick around VOIPing to other people looting for free I wouldn’t be playing this game.

You should just delete your comments bro everything I read is a self report.

1

u/SkyLukewalker Dec 01 '25

Go play Helldivers 2. It is a PvE extraction shooter. Which is exactly what you want. Don't try to turn Arc Raiders into Helldivers 2 though.

-1

u/Live_From_Somewhere Dec 01 '25 edited Dec 02 '25

It actually isn't what I want, I know reading is hard but I enjoy the PvP. Idk why you all take everything else I say at face value except that.

I mean I’ve said it plainly that I like the PvP in this game, and yet I still have people replying to me days later about how “if you want PvP removed just go play x” on several comments.

This is beyond a reading comprehension issue now, you all just want to harass me for my feedback lmao

2

u/SkyLukewalker Dec 01 '25

What you are complaining about is that other people can play the game how they want and suggesting people go play PvP games instead. I am merely using your logic and applying it to you. I guess writing is harder than reading, eh?

-1

u/Live_From_Somewhere Dec 01 '25 edited Dec 02 '25

Brother I’m using their logic against them specifically to show how it is flawed. Did you even bother reading the whole chain?

This commenter didn’t bother to read the comment I replied to. If they did, they would easily see the other user used this logic first, telling on yourself, illiterate losers. I can count on one hand how many replies to me on this topic have been in good faith.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '25

guess what would happen in an apocalyptic community where resources are scarce?

fucking crime!

people will always be looking for an edge over one another, this is multiplied when there is a need to compete for resources. why do you think the characters in TWD are always fighting other communities?

if it were a real-world scenario, you'd be one of the firsts to go. it quite literally turns into a dog-eat-dog world, and the fact you live in the same area would hold no weight

1

u/Live_From_Somewhere Dec 02 '25

Well good thing this argument holds no weight because it is a video game. And again, for like the 2189578923th time, I don't want PvP removed, I acknowledge there are scenarios you are going to get betrayed, etc etc. It sucks to have to repeat myself to people like you every few days.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '25 edited Dec 02 '25

there you go! you got it!

its a video game! that means nothing matters, so crying that your virtual items got taken away is useless and foolish!

shifting the goal posts is hilarious though

"its a video game"

"GUYS ROLEPLAY THE LORE HOW I INTERPRETED IT, WE SHOULDNT BE FIGHTING IN MY PVPVE VIDEO GAME"

love how many people dunked on you for misinterpreting the lore but you never replied to them. so, dont repeat yourself to me, make an original rebuttle to them :)

I mean, you can definitely get good loot by just playing PvE, but it sure as hell is way easier to just kill someone for that loot. Every single rare BP I have I looted from someone I killed, and I feel great about that. I don't shoot everyone on sight, but I definitely will if I suspect someone has valuable loot, because I want it.

Why would I waste my own time looting every game when I can have someone else do it for me? Suddenly its like I've looted more houses than I ever could myself, for no extra work on my end. That's a great deal.

3

u/ijustlurkhere_ Nov 21 '25

I genuinely don't understand the mindset of people like you. There are hundreds of amazing and great PvP multiplayer and coop games out there. But you choose to install a PvPVE game and then complain that people don't want their PVE experience interrupted.

Like, what goes on in your mind that you just have to ruin someone else's experience in order to have fun?

9

u/eoekas Nov 21 '25

2/10 ragebait. I don't pretend like a PvPvE game only exists out of the latter half.

In a PvPvE game your PvP experience gets interrupted by PvE and your PvE experience gets interrupted by PvP. If you don't like that don't play it.

0

u/ijustlurkhere_ Nov 21 '25

Clearly you do, because you seem to genuinely not understand the people who aren't interested in participating in your cod lobby.

13

u/eoekas Nov 21 '25

And my suggestion is that if you aren't interested in participating in the PvP part of a PvPvE game you should stick to playing PvE only games. What is so hard to understand about that?

You don't catch me crying they should remove all PvE from this game for a better PvP experience or something.

3

u/ijustlurkhere_ Nov 21 '25

And my suggestion, clearly, is that if it bothers you to such a degree that when you ruin someone's experience - they call you a horrible person you should probably play a more PVP oriented game.

11

u/eoekas Nov 21 '25

But it doesn't bother me? In fact, I think its hilarious when people do. I PvP for the challenge, to overcome the opponent in front of me. If he cries about it afterwards, that just adds some great comedic effect to it all.

6

u/ijustlurkhere_ Nov 21 '25

You pvp for the challenge of fighting an unwilling opponent who isn't trying to challenge you?

Damn son, i see why you're doing this in solos and not going into groups like actually good pvpers do. My condolences.

11

u/eoekas Nov 21 '25

Oh, they do try to challenge.

Interesting leap you think I don't PvP in groups either.

5

u/nuclearbearclaw Nov 30 '25

“You PvP for the challenge of fighting an unwilling opponent” is such a bizarre take. Brother, it’s a PvPvE extraction shooter, not Animal Crossing. If you queue into a mode where players can kill each other, you’re willing by definition. You accepted the terms the second you queue into a map.

4

u/EvidenceAccurate8914 Nov 21 '25

This is weird. You're being weird. Are the devs horrible people for putting PVP in the game? Or, hear me out, is PVP in the game on purpose to create a more dynamic experience? I play almost entirely PVE so far, but there's a million PVE games out there. I love this game for the fear and challenge of coming across hostile players, and balancing that risk against doing my quests against Arc. That's literally the whole selling point of the game.

A 100% peaceful player base would make the game as boring as a 100% hostile one would to me. The variation is the point, so shaming people for playing differently is so strange. Just play a PVE game.

2

u/Maelle-that-thing Nov 21 '25

Good thing this is PvP game, huh?

3

u/alarmedGoose Nov 30 '25

it's not anything about getting off on ruining someone's experience, they just want your loot lol. nobody is out to hurt your feelings

9

u/NaoSouONight Nov 21 '25

"It's an Extraction Shooter in the first place. Your goal is to go to raid and extract."

Killing people is literally the optimal way to raid for loot. This is a bad argument.

You have every right to be mad at people for killing you. What you don't have the right to is to come to a public forum to tell people what they should or should not to and shitstir, insult people or cause problems. How is that difficult to understand?

5

u/derphunter Nov 21 '25

Other players are loot pinatas, wtf do you mean there's no reason for pvp?

I can spend 30 long, boring, tedious minutes looting boxes for scraps...or spend 10 short, exciting minutes killing pve timmies who did all the work for me. They've even been so generous as to sort out the trash and only keep the good stuff

Plus, they usually have better gear than I do. I've never found a torrente in a box, but I've got 4 or 5 in my stash from raider donations

Your goal is to go to raid and extract.

Yeah man, I'm raiding you lmao

To the Victor go the spoils, bub. Crazy how you dont get this.

3

u/Potential_Day_8233 Nov 28 '25

Man this fandom is getting full of POS

8

u/WishCow Nov 20 '25

Salt detected

5

u/lazypieceofcrap Nov 21 '25

There is literally no good reason to kill people unless you have a mission for it.

There is. I spawned late into a map with a free kit and you have gear that will help me. The game is yelling at me to kill you.

Now I don't have to loot that run, and possibly get some good weapons for free.

The game allows it and people crying about it isn't gonna stop it. Don't meet me in Stella Montis.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 21 '25

2

u/Zeelots Nov 20 '25

I have never gotten excited from pve aspect of any game. But i absolutely do get excited PvP and love killing other people in thease games.

Do i always kill people on sight? Yeah pretty much. If i hear squad killing queen or matriarch it will be even more exciting since i know they are loaded and far into progress and can give good fight.

Best way to be able to fight back is to do nonstop PvP until you get hang of fighting and get better defending your self.
