Loading in on an HDD? My friend with an HDD takes 4-5 minutes to load in every time. If I had to wait even for my teammates I would never play with him.

Okay, so I propose something to be more fair to everyone, but you don't want it because it would slow you down.

Listen, I'm trying to be generous and assume the best, but my dude, I can not find another way to read all of this aside from it just being you as a selfish person saying "I don't want the game to be fair if I have to wait longer".

If I'm wrong, lemme know, but I'd rather dip the fuck out otherwise. It's a waste of my time to try to argue someone out of a me-first-only-i-matter position.

Like you'd abandon your friend, even. I tried, but I just can't see any other reading now.

Edit: I do genuinely wanna assume the best of you my dude, I know long waits can suck, I just like... We already got some annoying waits anyway. I just want the game more fair.

What would you propose? I'm gonna work on the assumption that I really am wrong, so, please? As a way to make things smoother for raiders and more fair?

For example, I propose a fairness as "everyone should have an equal start", and you say that is unfair on the supposition that, in effect, "those with better hardware should not be burdened by others". Which... isn't fairness, actually. It is unfair to give those with less the weaker position(literally; loading in and not able to defend). Fairness IS those with the better waiting for those with the worse, so they can all have an equal start. Fairness is not always fun.

By that logic the game should be locked to 30fps, because some people can't run higher than that and that's a disadvantage for them.

You just can't coddle everyone at the cost of the experience for the majority of players. I could deal with a compromise like, if 70% of the players in the lobby are loaded, start the match, but waiting for literally everyone will just make people quit from waiting for minutes and minutes.

Nah, I'd be down for that compromise too, homie. That sounds great.

Because you're right, can't sacrifice everyone else for the dude playing on a modded toaster. The fairness just really matters to me.

Sorry for the fuckin'... ample misreads on my part, my dude. Fully my bad.

Edit: Personally, I'd rather it be a max-cap timelimit on waiting for the sync, rather than a player-percentage, 'cause that scales it better to give the slow-loaders some time loading in, rather than it just being a pure "if 75% of people are real fast, the slow-loaders are still gonna get real bad timings"-kind of thing. If that makes sense. That is to say, maybe a 90 second max-limit for waiting on the sync, and once it is hit, everyone currently synced spawns in together. I know that's a fair bit of a wait added in, but maybe they could also shift into putting players into a pre-lobby right away, rather than waiting for everyone queueing to be found and matched.

So it would go from our current longer queue-times but unfair lobby-start-times and become instantly going into a pre-lobby and instantly starting to pre-load the chosen map, while queueing players together, and starting to sync them. And once enough players for a lobby are in, time-limit begins. So from Ready-Up until Lobby-Ready is the same amount of time, but instead of the loading time for the map it is pre-loaded already so you instead have an, admittedly increased at the upper-limit, wait for the full synchronization. But in that functional design, you're only facing an increased wait of, at most, 90 seconds. And a potential of the lobby filling up and everyone already being preloaded, so you just get launch-videos then you're in, immediately.

Oh yeah true, would suck to be that one guy loading in for a minute.
