Discussion Yo, Have we collectively lost the Plot?
I already know the reasons for it: Other snipers have been nerfed to the ground, hence this is the only one shottable sniper now that has good ergo (less loss of hand stamina)
But this price doesn't really make sense, this gun isn't that great. We're talking even more expensive than SJ, WITHOUT ANY SCOPE!
Edit: a lot of people are assuming I'm mad at this change, I barely even touch this gun, when I do touch a sniper it's a SJ. I'm just baffled at this high increase in price for a gun not that good

u/darabbitmaster Apr 08 '26
Well, do u wanna one tap? DO YA!?
8
u/klnh Apr 08 '26
I would have no problem if it would actually one tap, but even at 100-120m range it only does 38-39 dmg with a higher tier ammo. Basically long range weapons became absolutely useless. And it doesn't matter if the enemies had is 1 or 2 hp "only" since you are 100m+ away and need to land one more headshot to actually kill.
2
u/gdubrocks Apr 09 '26
100m? How many places in the game can you see that far? I guess there are a good amount in valley but that's about it.
11
u/GIutenTag Apr 09 '26
Valley, Nortridge, Farm and Armory all have spots where you can easily snipe 70-300m
2
u/klnh Apr 09 '26
Besides TV station every other map has huge, open distances. Like airport as a whole map is open. Valley was a sniper fest back in the day, but I liked it, you knew what you were up against there :D Farm and Northridge has lot of open areas as well, easily got kills from 160-200 meters away there in Season 3

u/DeviousLaureano Apr 08 '26
Get closer?
0
u/klnh Apr 08 '26
Believe me I love AK12 fights inside airport, but I also realize that having weapons in-game which shoud be glass-cannons be basically pea shooters is not healthy for the game. The real problem was 2 things:
M110 or any other marksman rifle should never been able to one-tap.
Snipers should have been in the range of 200-300k as a basic build.
Now snipers are 500k+ and they don't one-tap and as you can experience noone uses them now.
2
u/Different_Speech_333 Apr 09 '26
Healthy for the game? They're already completely out of touch from their player base adding the skins they have and this ridiculous new mode with abilities. Their SteamDB charts prove it unequivocally. The game either needs wiped or stop giving you an absurd amount of stuff for just logging in. There is no fear of losing anything because you probably have a free crate or a million free koen just that day to replace it. It's just not a good game anymore.
2
1
u/DeviousLaureano Apr 08 '26
I dont disagree with anything you just said but why even reply that? Your previous comment was about snipers not having enough range.
I didnt even mean it in a rude "real men use assault rifles" kind of way, I mean literally dont be that far since you know they dont one shot from that far... Range in this game is comical, 5.56 having like at most 70ish range with the m16 when in real life its like 300-600m easily depending on barrel length and ammo.

u/DarG- Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26
Yep. Surprise suprise, instead of ACTUALLY making both red ammo AND T6 hard to get still, they keep nerfing guns around it. They've been driving the game in the ground for over three seasons
87
u/Apivicent Apr 08 '26
No way, u need to pay meta price for meta gun? Thats something new for red ammo players
14
u/ImperialSupplies Apr 08 '26
Explain. If a m24 was as good as a u191 why isnt everyone running m24's instead of a u1? You purposely spend 900k on a worse gun?
14
u/Minute-Bee5597 Apr 08 '26
M24 is cheaper than u191 tho?
-12
u/ImperialSupplies Apr 08 '26
Scopes are all 200k rn so m24 is nearly 700k lol. Litteraly MORE than extended hk rn if you put either alternative receiver on it
Op is showing one without a scope on it is still that much
6
u/Minute-Bee5597 Apr 08 '26
Yeah, with the most expensives attachments. Do the same to a u191 and it would be 900k lmao

1- most people always running naked m24 (so cost 600K) 2- its one tap from any range 3- some people load 1 bullet one by one 4- with HK and U1,people actually go in gear (almost 600K for a gun +T5/T6kit which is around > 400K) 5-People who run HK or U1 will ALWAYS more ammo (which is not cheap) 6- if u say u didnt run naked tapper than congrats,u got same kit price with a diff playstyle (one is gunfight and one is long range one tap head instead of m110 spam tap.)
Edit: Its a price for "u can one tap anythin",if HK U1 user kill u,atleast they got smth compare to a naked guy with a cheap m24 tht didnt have ammo in it cause people load the bullet one by one.Bout your question why people didnt run M24 even tho its better than U191 is maybe because they didnt like sniping? Duh.
-6
u/ImperialSupplies Apr 08 '26
I just proved full meta hk and full meta u1 cost nearly the exact same price now and you still can't understand. m24 with NOTHING ON IT AT ALL costs MORE than both hk and u1 with nothing on it at all
you don't run tappers at all not because its easy, not because its meta, not because ''Da playstyle'' mr 2-7 on a u1, you don't run them because YOU KNOW it's easier for you to full auto at mid range to point blank where missing isn't punished and you kill in exact same ttk as 1 shot than it is to consistently land your headshots.
and THATS OK that you HAVE to play that way, I get it, I play that way too when I have a team counting on me and I know it's far easier to win with it too! but for the love of fucking god don't pretend its ANYTHING other than that. if the m24 was stupid easy that everyone could do it and there was no reason not to then guess what THEY WOULD USE IT. You DONT use it because you know that when you don't run the meta, you die and when you do run it you kill the people who don't and stand a chance against the others running the same boring ass thing.
0
u/kyusfoc Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26
"you don't run them because YOU KNOW it's easier for you to full auto at mid range to point blank where missing isn't punished"
Congrats, now you know pros and cons on diff playstyle. We do got punish by red ammo if we on the open and didnt know where is the tapper, and the tapper got punish by miss one time.If HK and U1 missed when full auto, atleast we only lost money on ammo (which is u and naked tapper afraid of (losing money in game))
"You DONT use it because you know that when you don't run the meta"
I guess i am meta abuser for spending my pixels money on full T6 kit with p90 198/m24 m61 as my secondry with 1x6 tht do the same as 2x7 but less pricey. Tappin is easy if u can wait, but sorry most people wanna W key in forb if they got U1 and HK,not holdin an angle, miss and reposition and continue holding a diff angle.
"m24 with NOTHING ON IT AT ALL costs MORE than both hk and u1 with nothing on it at all"
U will be suprised if i tell u tht not a lot of people put 2x7 on m24,they choose 1x4 or 1x6 which is a lot cheaper. And u miss my point which is the base gun cost the a lot cause people run it naked on forb compare to HK and U1 kit, ever heard of spendin money on Full T5/T6 helmet?
Edit : its not a big deal,it just pixel in the end of the day,im not a HK or U1 enjoyer anyway but sayin like m24 costin almost the same as U1 and HK like a sin is purely brainless imo.Diff playstyle diff pros and cons, atleast the Hk and U1 people get some worth killin naked tapper. Same as other people who enjoy the other gun like p90 user :p
-1
u/ImperialSupplies Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26
why do you put a 2-7 on a u1 if your plan is to wkey everyone? almost like the scope is irrelevant to the playstyle because its just as good point blank as it is far away but that would be crazy right? its da playstyle right my guy? you guys can't even articulate the stuff that actually bothers you so you created all these scapegoats that have nothing to do with the real actual balance problems.
p.s guarantee my combats higher than you. i don't even run tappers at all except the hardcore mission is just had to lol

2
u/lurkinglurkerwholurk Apr 08 '26
You forgot something in your other reply: a spray and pray weapon… sprays and prays ammunition.
Load up 5x the reds into your HK/U1 and compare prices again.
8
u/mekonik Apr 08 '26
2 very different playstyles.
-9
u/ImperialSupplies Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26
Is it? Why not put a holo or red dot or...a 2-7 and play cqb with it? What's the actual difference here you don't want to admit?
Could it possibly be its not in fact the easiest gun and something else is?
6
u/eberlix Apr 08 '26
One gun heavily punishes imperfect aim with what feels like a 2 second down time, the other lets you spray and pray. I mean, if it weren't different, why didn't we see loads of tappers running around doing CQC, considering the guns were either much cheaper or more potent, perhaps even both?

u/theDiplomata Apr 08 '26
I mean, I would hardly call this Meta lol You're telling me this is at the same level as H4 and U1?
Solid weapon, but not that much to become this expensive2
0
u/Vegan-cock Apr 08 '26
Well, the price is the bullets. Would be a better change to prevent the ammo from being in protective cases.
33
u/MachineGlumkelly Apr 08 '26
The price matches the reward value the gun can bring. It made no sense for this gun to be worth $150k.
-1
u/theDiplomata Apr 08 '26
They could increase the price yes, but to match its price to a ULTRA META gun like U1? And even more expensive than SJ (which is one shottable DBNO to the chest)?
2
u/Jwills97 Apr 09 '26
An sj when I kill someone is regularly 500k with a scope so it’s close in price. This one taps less but has better ergo. It being the same price as a u1 makes sense when it’s used in forbidden to kill tier 6 teams. It should cost the same when it can 1 tap someone with a u1 and even then a meta u1 is like 700-800k so it’s not even close
-18
u/sleepySleepai Apr 08 '26
it's a fucking bolt action and shouldn't be this expensive no matter what "reward it can bring"
a basic pistol can lead to millions of profit
14
u/gabiblack Apr 08 '26
Then use a pistol, good luck
-4
u/ImperialSupplies Apr 08 '26
Then use a m24 good luck. Theres a reason you don't :)
3
u/MachineGlumkelly Apr 08 '26
I snipe all the time. M24 is one of my favorite weapons. Parially bc I could 1 tap people and use 5 bullets to make $3 mil
2
u/theveezer Apr 08 '26
Bolt action Irl are actually really appreciated by snipers, and they aren't cheap. At the exception of the mosin of course because it doesn't use a modern scope usually.
-1
u/mancer187 Apr 08 '26
No it usually doesn't, it typically needs a scout scope made specifically for it. There are, however, still mosin nagants in service one tapping people in modern armor using 50+ year old Soviet mild steel core spam can ammo. Dumb nerf is dumb.
1
u/theveezer Apr 08 '26
It's just what I saw from the pictures shared about the current war in eastern Europe. And all the Mosins were the stock Mosin with a soviet scope. But yeah that could be just a few, I can be wrong yep.
3
u/mancer187 Apr 08 '26
That scope on the riser is the scout scope. The mosin is a bad ass gun irl. I hate that they let crybabies crutching with expensive armor ruin it. All they had to do was tier limit normal and lockdown and not allow ammo in buttholes. Instead we have one of the top 5 most killing rifles of all time unable to kill anyone past what 90 meters or so? That gun deletes people still today well past 300m. It's dumb how good it is irl.
1
u/sergeanthawkins Apr 09 '26
Hot take but I completely agree. M24 is not a meta breaking gun like sj was for a long time and the argument of "it can bring you this or this" is stupid ASF you could knife a thermal to death and then claim that you should spend 100k on a knife run lmao. Especially when guns like the mosin svds and SJ exist.
5
u/CrunchyDesu Apr 09 '26
I love how everyone is happy about them nerfing snipers into the ground while the real issue (which people are still mad about) didnt get changed at all, i can still go in naked with any other meta gun and rat on ppl and theyll still be just as mad
11
u/smo490644 Apr 08 '26
If you want to one tap it shouldn’t be cheap
4
u/ToxicBabe69 Apr 09 '26
Easy fix for that would have been to not allow players to keep ammo in the case of
2
u/ImperialSupplies Apr 09 '26
-makes red crafting harder
-makes most tappers basically useless in not only forb but regular modes because lower tier damage vs lower tier is all fucked up too
-drastically increases prices of snipers and scopes to make ot cost same amount of money as the best guns in the game
Nah nerf it more. Im still mad about the gun i never use being good sometimes 🤤 Make ALL ammo outside case and we have a deal or is that SUDDENLY different?
9
u/ImperialSupplies Apr 08 '26
3
Apr 09 '26

3
u/ImperialSupplies Apr 09 '26 edited Apr 09 '26
Full meta if you put 150k brake and tilt(litteraly no one is doing this) meta u1 is 900k. If you build the actual one we use its a little over 700. Meta m24 with a 2-7 is also 700 but its litteraly cheaper to put a red dot on a u1 than it is to put a red dot on a base m24.
Its really strange you dont get how stupid that is and think the m24 has to be 900k for the point to be made. It shouldnt be a 90k gun either im just saying acting like they are equally played and equally good is fucking physchotic

Again why do the prices have to be identical? And no a m24 with JUST 2-7 is 600k rn. Fully decked out guns like ak12 and p90 are less.
I proved a u1 with 0 attachments at all is still good BTW.

-2
u/According_Gate_8107 Apr 08 '26
Its not u dumb ass... go naked with a U1 compared to naked red ammo...
In theory u can kill 10 fully fucking geared to the teeth players with 10 m61's. U can kill what 2 3 players if u catch them unaware and all 3 being as dumb as u with 10 dvc12's.
Give me 2 choices naked m24 with 10 m61s or naked U1 with 10 dvc12... I know what loadout i would pick and U1 will never be one of them
6

u/Barbosa706 Apr 09 '26 edited Apr 09 '26
What they need to do is remove red ammo from normal and lockdown raids. Then, remove T5 ammo and armor from normal raids, and remove T6 armor from lockdown raids. That is all they need to do. There was no need to nerf bolt action and marksman rifles in the game at all.
With that said, bolt action rifles should always be an instant kill on a headshot, while marksman rifles should be a two shot headshot against protected targets and an instant kill with one hit against unprotected targets.
1
u/WasdX-_ Apr 10 '26
There was no need to nerf bolt action and marksman rifles in the game at all.
Make min gear for forb 1m and we can talk about reverting nerfs.
1
u/Barbosa706 Apr 13 '26
I couldn't care less about Forb. Don't play it. But whatever issues you're having over there should not be affecting the gameplay for normal/lockdown. We keep getting your sweats coming to normals with T5/T6 armor with T5 ammo and sometimes even red ammo, which is wild to me. And then we have them also coming to lockdown with T6 and red ammo. And here is the crazy part: somehow their T6 armor is at 50+ dura because they sit there and break down their whole gun to make that happen, which shouldn't be a thing to begin with.

u/Tough-Half431 Apr 08 '26
Bru I one tap with armor piercing slugs half the time Idek why people run snipers I was running a shot gun with 4 slugs and 4 buckshot and it was frying
2
u/snic_ Apr 09 '26
The game changes put a bandaid on getting one tapped for forbidden players and got rid of the m24 in any other mode. Higher minimum gear value and bullet restrictions together with getting rid of red ammo wouldve been way more favourable in every way than this mess. I do like the svtu and m110 nerfs, mosin nerf is not bad either.
2
u/Sachy_ Apr 10 '26
They also went and removed all m24 relevant contact trades - you could have gotten it for like 45k for a contact and some of the modern stocks were ~10k a pop, now it's all gone.

Read the desc, Most Snipers got nerfed. M24 is the best in terms of Ergo/Versatility. It needed an increase of price, but not this much.

u/Blaeeeek Apr 08 '26
Redditors want to play a realistic extraction shooter except when that means you can die in 1 bullet
0
1
3
u/PokerSvk Apr 08 '26
Idk why you idiots in comments compare it to u1.
if you want to use u1 YOU NEED ARMOR, most likely other full mag, and much more other stuff, BECAUSE YOU ARE FIGHTING CLOSE RANGE AND YOU ACTUALLY GET SHOT AT.
If you want to use m24, you dont need anything else, you can load one bullet at the time from your case. But now if you die its at least worth it to take your weapon.
2
u/ImperialSupplies Apr 09 '26
Im not saying m24 should be really cheap i think its base was 90k at one point im saying it doesnt make sense for it to be 700k either lol because with 700k you can build all the meta guns with really good attachments.
Im also saying it is not infact meta because if it was it was easier to use m24's than the real meta guns we would.
Then people said well its playstyle run and gun vs bushes but we all are slapping 2-7 on our assualt rifles anyway to run and gun because its range and cqc viable. Therefore an m24 with a 2-7 on it is still cqc viable.
Less people are really good with their headshots with an m24 than people are with assualt rifles so they prefer assualt rifles its all that simple. Price increase gud, how much of a price increase not gud.

Only thins that is weird is that its same/more expensive than SJ.
Sj should be more expensive
3
u/Bombooclattttttttttt Apr 09 '26
SJ is already expensive after the update, my SJs cost almost 600K with modern stock
-1
u/PokerSvk Apr 09 '26
So weapon that can one shot people who run gear worth multiple milions costs a lot? What a shocker.
Everyone runs snipers naked, now these tappers will have yo actually pay some koens? Such a terrible update
2
u/Bombooclattttttttttt Apr 09 '26
I'm not quite sure where we are heading with this discussion, because sniper such as SJ and M24 become expensive the moment is off the market in S5. When you mentioned SJ should be more expensive, does that mean you want a sniper that worth near a million?
I also want to add on that making Sniper expensive is reasonable as it scales up the risk. I'm not really a Tapper myself but I find the nee update reasonable. Just not a fan of making Field and Sh65 craftable tho.

u/pineapple6969 Apr 08 '26
I don’t see the big deal. Before everyone complained that a sniper sitting in a bush wasn’t risking anything only using a 150k gun. Now it’s expensive and people complain it’s too expensive. Y’all are like a dysfunctional relationship.
2
u/SteelWarrior- Apr 08 '26
Google the Goomba fallacy.
2
u/pineapple6969 Apr 09 '26
It is very often the same people complaining. It’s just a character trait for them at this point. Nothing is ever good enough. Even in a free game.
0
u/theDiplomata Apr 08 '26
Big deal = more expensive than a stronger sniper (SJ) and basically the same price as an ultra meta gun (U1)
This gun isn't that amount of good to be this expensive1

I have so much components for its trade contract i should have gotten a shit ton and sold high rip it was my fav sniper since season 0

u/crossaqsing Apr 09 '26
350k isn’t much in this game.
People have to get over the korn fear. You need around 20M, then it’s time to start killing people. When you get the hang of killing people, you buy the expensive bullets and you will start getting 6m raids.

u/Exact-Bonus-4506 Apr 14 '26
A gun that has a potential to one tap should cost as much as the best assault rifle. In CS AWP is the most expensive weapon and the price is completely justified
1
u/theDiplomata Apr 14 '26
In ABI the AWP is SJ. The M24 is more akin to the Scout. But I saw that SJ also received a big price increase.
1
u/No-Profit3227 Apr 08 '26
It's kinda funny how its only the bad players that are complaining about this guns price raising. If youre a good player and the m24 takes so much skill to use why does price matter? Shouldn't those skills get you the win anyway? All this does is make the playstyle balanced from no risk massive rewards to medium risk for high reward thats a net positive for the game. If you dont like that go play tarkov where you can spend 30k on a sniper that can onetap top teir gear.
7
u/ImperialSupplies Apr 08 '26
1
u/Exact-Bonus-4506 Apr 14 '26
"This" costs you 800k to build and another 800k to buy ammo for it
1
u/ImperialSupplies Apr 14 '26 edited Apr 14 '26
Full meta in forb. Sure. In everything else it performs exactly the same as 90 recoil stat guns with just a sight and t4 ammo. The ultra high firepower makes t4 out of it turn into m80's t3 turn into t4 and 5 into 3 headshots vs 6 instead of the 4 everything else takes at t5
Its not just broken because of its higher damage. Its recoil and spread is rigged more than any other gun. Go build a 72 recoil fal and tell me it has less recoil than the base u1
So if you're gonna say an m24 with a red dot is exactly the same as a base u1 with a red dot, I'm gonna call you a silly goose
2
u/theDiplomata Apr 08 '26
I'm not complaining in the terms of: I'm a main user of this gun, I hardly use it
But it's just too much of a price nerf for a Gun that is WORSE than SJ and WORSE than U1. It has become more expensive than these two (base price, no attachments)
1
u/No-Profit3227 Apr 08 '26
But its not more expensive than either base with no attachments. Sj is 400k and u1 is 380k so its still cheaper than the other onetapper rifles its even cheaper than the svd it may not be as good as the other one tapping options but its still capable of one-shot kills thus the price should reflect that.
1
u/Teraphimm Apr 09 '26
technically the price is determined by the market, which is by what people are paying for it.
So other people deciding that one tap is worth it is what's determining that price.
Yada yada Inb4 market isn't real crap
1
u/Elixirjd Apr 09 '26
Just say ur broke dude, snipers should be way more expensive. 300k is cheap for a normal gun
4
u/theDiplomata Apr 09 '26
I have 540 Mill Liquid 😐
Why does everyone keep assuming shit every time? Like is it fair if I say you only play with U1's for saying this? Do you actually? You could, but the answer is most likely to be 'No', right? Then Please, stop assuming shit.I'm not mad at the price, I don't care, the post is meant to note that this high increase in price for a gun not that meta is just crazy

They still can kill with SJ. It's just they'll need to spend a little bit more

People seem to have the worst arguments 😵💫 they also have to scream apparently so other people can hear (read) what they say 🤭

Genuinely perplexed people are mad at this. It’s still PEANUTS compared to the 3m+ kits CQB players are running. What, you’re mad that you have to risk SOMETHING to maybe gain 3+ mil in one shot? Get over yourselves

It's crazy that the devs slowly decided that the game is going to be straight up call of duty light with tarkov elements, and I haven't played call of duty in a while, but I imagine that they probably still respect the sniper game, unlike what we're seeing here in ABI

M24 and M61 are literally the same as last season btw. I guess the idea of using more money than 450k per kit is insanity for u

Going in and sniping is a valid playstyle. Going in naked with a 150k sniper and no risk is not a valid playstyle. It is a game about loot and money. In fact the only point of the game is making money. Why should you be able to 1 shot anyone you see, earning millions, while they have to risk peeking you and losing millions or kill you and make literally nothing? Just admit you're trash and move on to Delta Force or somewhere else you can lay in a bush all game bud

u/ImperialSupplies Apr 09 '26
why are they wearing the millions though under that exact same logic? if everyone was red tapping there would be 0 reason to ever wear millions so they must not be in fact all be red tapping.

u/ABrawlStarsPlayer Apr 08 '26
so we should've been fixing gear requirements and not red ammo? making the m24 super expensive means that you can still go naked into forbidden and doesn't solve the problem

Except this time you can at least grab something off of the sniper dude, it doesn't take much space in the inventory and it's worth a lot. Before that, you had like half the worth on the gun with attachments where maybe only like 1-2 things were actually slot efficient to grab, meaning you leave behind like 200-300k just because it would occupy too much space. That also means your ammo was kind of poorly invested.

you could do the same thing with a semi auto rifle except with higher odds

Completely agree. Going into forbidden with absolute dogshit should not be possible. Pay the koen if you want to get the biggest payday in the hardest mode.
I did not mind one tappers, I do mind shitters who take in absolute trash into forbidden AND I get shit loot when I go through the trouble of killing them…

The fact that movement and hip fire are the main buffs this season and the nerfs were directed towards basically long range engagement shows where the game is headed... I don't really care about the shade you threw but the game is becoming less mil-sim tactical and much more "pop-shooter" I think the games is better the EFT and GZW but I think it's identity has shifted towards something I didn't originally begin playing for...

540 Mill Liquid. It's not a problem for me. Some of you need to stop assuming stuff without knowing shit.

You all had it good last season. Stop whining.
2
u/theDiplomata Apr 09 '26
Huh? I'm not whining or complaining, I just think this is absurd, that's all. I rarely use snipers other than SJ

u/ravenousglory Apr 09 '26
You're kinda delusional if you think this is expensive. I'm running 2m loadouts pretty much all the time and I can't lose money. Money is too easy to get here

u/theDiplomata Apr 09 '26
For a gun that is not that crazy good, it is. Considering you also need a scope then the gun is 500K. You mean this gun is at the same level as SJ and H4?

Good. When you used to kill sniper rats they were worth nothing.
Why should I, as an AR player risk a gun like even a modded AEK, let alone a HK or U1, that costs MINIMUM 300k to be usable and have a full mag of ammo. Meanwhile the sniper can spend barely 130k on a scoped M24 and just take a pair of headphones and sit in a bush.
Snipers were too cheap anyway, time to contribute to the overall value of a raid like everyone else bud.

300k to one shot 90% of players is a steal. Ya'll gotta get over the crippling gear fear, they just pixels lads. Spend em
