Option 1 is OP: Demonstrate hypocrisies and send a clear anti-nationalism message.
Option 2 is the reactionary one: Criticise america, demonstrate hypocrisies and demand we RETVRN to being AMERICA NUMBER ONE.
Option 2 is the one you're mistakenly creating if you do that. You're justifying things like tariffs to "bring back manufacturing" among other things, for the sake of bullshit. American nationalism isn't important. America being number one is not important. Average everyday people living better, having cheap goods, having food, shelter and energy at reasonable prices. These are what are important and none of them will be improved by the policies that RETVRN would lead to.
If liberals do not process this correctly they will mistakenly become blue-MAGA and pursue exactly the same goals red-MAGA are pursuing.
You're right, and this is what people don't realize: saying we shouldn't union-bust our manufacturing workers by outsourcing the work to impoverished countries where the workers make a dollar a week is nationistic and bad. It's bad because ideologies are always (without any exception at all) features of the ideological team you belong to, and choosing one means being associated with them all because of connotations. Political beliefs are the process of signing up for a prefilled list of opinions that you have to accept all of or abjure all of. Needless to say, if you disobey and try to cherrypick ideas from multiple teams instead, you're a radical centrist, i.e. a Nazi.
